VE engine mounts?!!!!
Just taken my Senator in for a 45,000km service with the following other problems:
1. Driver window jammed (has to be pulled up)
2. Suspension/MRC knocking (needs recalibration, again)
3. Transmission clunk
4. Right indicator flashing problem, after they fixed the left.
Firstly, they "lubricated" the window which was a cop out, rather than fixing the issue.
Second, they tell me the knocking noise from the suspension is because the ENGINE MOUNTS NEED TO BE REPLACED!.
The car's a year old! Apparently it is a factory problem, the engine mounts become "aerated". Strange - they would need to have a leak and get air into them for this to happen.
Has anyone else been fed this story, or been told they have to have the mounts replaced?
The dealer also "upgraded" the software on the rear entertainment unit, for the 3rd time, to solve the battery issue that I don't have. In the process, they reset all the settings in the car (electric seats, climate control, etc). This happens every time!.
And in terms of the indicator, HSV apparently now have a Revision to the revised module (no, that's not a double negative). So they have to order one of those now.
All up, the car was off the road for the entire 10 hour day, and it'll be off the road for another entire day (up to 15 business days and counting) when they do the engine mounts.
This just plain sucks!

it does, but be patient it will get sorted, just remember this is an Australian car, there will NEVER be a perfect Australian car, the level of workmanship shown by most workers in this country is poor compared to overseas countries, look at Korea.
as annoying as these problems are, this is an incredible feat for Holden to design and build a completely new car,
i know for a fact ford are having problems with the new fg so its not just a holden thing likewise for toyota having with dash rattles and sqeaks in the aurion/camry

With the engine mounts, they should be under warranty. It has been identified as a fault by holden, here is the techline on it so you can go in prearmed and shove it in their faces.
As for the Rear Seat Entertainment revision, the car came flagged as having that need to be done and the sticker in the glovebox had not been marked. Thats all been marked now, so should stop it being done again.

I had these changed just recently, i am still having the same issue in relation to knocking from the front of the car. Its at the stage now where the Stealership has no idea what to do next.

transmission faults, electrical gremlins (<can you see the similarity with the ve in that one), fuel guage and dte problems,
one of which a car was delivered to the dealer with obvious stuffed transmission, now where was quality control that day?
and just as a bit of trivia, to fit a tow bar to a fg, you need to take a angle grinder to the chassis rails (yes you heard right) and then drill 3-4 PRECISE holes in the chassis, all of this take a good few hours

Word has it that these same engine mounts were causing gm significant head aches in getting the g8's to pass the strict US crash tests.

Yo, there is a techline on a new stabiliser bar bush..
Cause: Front stabiliser bar bush is either missing (dislodged) or the bar has moved into the split in the bush.
Correction: Revised bushes incorporating retention lips and material change to prevent the stabiliser bar moving into the split section of the bush have been fitted to vehicles from
[Wagon and ute] **********L142657 - Build Date: 14/2/08
[Sedan] **********L150898 - Build Date: 27/2/08
Techline Ref. No. TL1406 - 0801

prozak - any chance you could upload the techline?
The engine mount techline fixed my front end clunk noise, would just be good for others.
To the OP - how many seperate whinge threads do you want to create? Why not just keep adding to your original thread?
