    Default VE Bumper Respray

    Hi all,

The color difference on the VE bumpers is not something new, although Holden Customer support apparently know nothing on any such problem.....yeah right!!!! Anyway, my local dealer has agreed to respray my bumbers to better match the colour of the car. My concern now is that given the respray will not be done by the dealer it will be done by a local panel & paint shop, I'm really not comfortable leaving my vehicle with them. They want the car for around 3 days and I have no control over who drives it, how they treat it or how secure it is. Do you think I should just get over the panel color differences or what advice can you offer??

just let them fix it. i highly doubt that they are going to cause any damage to or flog the crap out of your car, they have a professional reputation to uphold.

ive had my car at smash repairs twice to have work done under warranty, im happier than having someone at the dealership try and dodgy paint it,

just tell them YOU will drop the car off to the smash repairers and pick it up, thats what i did and the dealer was more than happy to do that

Also be good idea to go over your car before you hand on the keys, also tell them you have inspected your car and there aren't any scratches dents etc etc etc and thats how I want it returned
Seriously, I'm trying to see things from your point of view but I can't get my head that far up my arse!!

To a dealer, its just a warranty claim so they dont really care (from working for a large Holden yard), whereas a panel shop will as its their first and foremost source of income.

I'm pretty confident in saying i'd rather leave my car with my panel shop than any dealership, by far

Just write down the odometer reading when you drop it off.
Car theives should be treated just like horse theives and cattle rustlers in the days of the wild west... Hang them!

yeah i would get it resprayed too. If they run a descent business they have a reputuation to uphold. I have a morpheuous ssv and the bumber colour difference really stands out. Im the second owner do you think it would be worth putting in a warranty claim for it.

If it's a small local sparyers they usually only have a couple employees and like what others have said, they should treat your car no different than if u came off the street and were paying cash. They'll look after it. Most sprayers are older more mature guys i rarely see a young spray painter.

well, if you can, give them only the bumber xD

or do what the guys told you, inspect the car (and take pictures) and check the odometer.

if you are embarrassed to do so, just tell them this isn't your car and you are doing it for a friend (and give him a scary job )
