Don't buy a car from ************ Holden!
...or please do if you think otherwise.
Took a Calais VE out at (Perth) yesterday.
Not that quick off the mark are they? Seem to lack the punch of the old supercharged V6 and my V8 Berlina. But they do handle well.
By the way - the salesman was extremely rude - said to me "why would you think your car is worth more than $4000" - I was trading a 99 VT supercharged Calais. I suggested he should not talk to customers like that. Normally a professional salesman senses your displeasure and suggest thay they can make a deal.
What a strange sales technique! He made me wait, standing at reception off and on - despite my saying I had limited time. Best to way to annoy a potential buyer.
Also would not give me my car keys back until I demanded them and I had to pull them from his hand.
Will have to look elsewhere I guess.
What a loser of a salesman. I can provide his name by PM if anyone wants to avoid this time waster.
Cheers

Seems like a legitimate question to me. Why would you think your car is worth more than $4000 as a trade in? Oh also, if you want to know what the dealer will give you for your trade in, it takes time and you will have to wait... Expect similar elsewhere
Cheers
Funny how a V8 Berlina or SC V6 Calais feels better to drive than a heavier NA V6 Calais... Wonder why that would be? Hmmm...

That would show you how much was in the the car they were trying to sell. Or that they were willing to dip into their holdback to get a sale. The dealership shouldn't be avoided because of one dipsh*t salesman.

I think we've all delt with bad salesman at one point or another. I remember when the AU Falcon was released in '98 I wanted to take one for a test drive. I owned VS exec and told the salesman at the Penrith Ford dealer I might consider trading it in if I liked it. He looked me up and down and said "I bet thats not even your car". Then said to me "You couldn't even afford one of these". It was 10 years ago now but sticks in my mind very clearly.

H'mm perhaps you were a bit miffed at his attitude and comment. We've only heard one side of the story so far - your side. Perhaps he kept you waiting whilst he rang around the trade trying to get a better price for your car? Maybe he considered you to be the time waster. Who knows. Obviously we'll never find out now. You need to be very careful publicly naming anyone or organisation. Defamation and libel claims can prove to be very expensive for anyone shooting their mouth off irresponsibly and maliciously.

No real probs so far with any sales people, (oh except for this one old dirty man who kept checking my missus out lol) but i figure if someone is going to be rude then ask another sales rep for help, i have been to shops to buy home HI FI gear and they have looked @ me and my missus like as if you could afford any of these products ect but it just gives them a shock when i flip out the cash to buy something and then walk out also don't most sales reps work on commission? There loss for bad attitude

Same prices for series 1 and 2, its redbook so its never really that accurate.

If one salesman will not give you the service or price you want, just walk to the next one. Thats business, and if the salesman doesn't sell cars, they get sacked. There is plenty of places that want your money, just move on.
I wouldn't wait more than 10 minutes in a car yard, there is always another 5 minutes down the road.
