Now that's nice![]()
Bought this sv6 in Dec 08, making it an MY09 model. Phantom paint, red trim interior.
Modifications:
Aesthetics - SSV Tail lights, 20" SuperSport Wheels, Lowered by 30mm (with King Springs only)
Intake - Airhammer CAI, MACE Manifold Insulators
Exhaust - Pacemaker Headers, Hi-Flo Cats, stock stainless steel 2.25" exhaust (with hotdogs & crimp taken out), Redback Rear Mufflers with custom tips
I can see myself changing the clutch in the near future and I would get a tune if they ever come out with it, which when they do I might invest in a CAPA supercharger, but thats just a thought... The note is great (thanks monaro327), the springs are settling, the fuel economy is starting to pick up and the torque increase is surprising.

that is an aweosme car, Love it!
My Silver VZ wagon
Lowered and on Bilstein Coilovers on RJR 18" Wheels
2 hole mod and Cat Back exhaust
Which mod(s) would you say gave you the better increase in torque?..
Bang for Buck in terms of torque would have to be the MACE Manifold Insulators ($130) and/or the Airhammer CAI ($400) - You'll notice the torque increase with these two, especially with the throttle response.
thatz sikkkk
i luv the badge
nd the color
nice car
tc
god they're nice cars
mate that is a beauty..what mufflers are those? They look great.
Cheers

Pretty car!
What are manifold insulators?
The GXP G8 diffuser would look sweet with those tips.

Damn... Looking at your SV6 makes me want a BLACK one now!!! They are damn hot after a good detail. Where a Red one is hard to tell that it has been even waxed. Nice car mate.
I just got the same wheels on my SV6 too...love em aye.
Please let us know what mufflers they are, i want to get some for mine too!
Cheers
Sorry, I didn't read the description...Redback...got it. thanks
chev badges on a v6.....WTF?
nice ride, where abouts did you get the hot dogs and crimp removed?
Cheers
any exhaust shop can do it. i had it done at sureflo.
What difference does that make on a V6? Does it make it sound more throaty? More just more drone?
Cheers
did sfa for my note.
not really any noise difference maybe just slightly louder, not worth it if the noise is the only thing you care about
quick update,
got a powerchip tune - very noticable improvement and removed check engine light
currently the car sounds the same as monaro327's, check his thread for a sound video, however I am looking into getting custom made rear mufflers that are slightly more restrictive to reduce the noise as the cabins/boots of the sedans have sh*t-all noise insulation
also looking into changing the diff ratio to 3.45:1 so that the car will spin up out of that laggy low rev range quicker
sorry a few people asked about manifold insulators, they (greatly) reduce the manifold temperature hence intake air temp MACE ENGINEERING GROUP
how much was the powertune?? Was gonna donate my car for a maffless test, not sure if they are still going ahead with it. How much rwkw do ya reckon u picked up?? Any idea what ur car is now in terms of kw's??
was the mace spacers hard to install? Dont have the confidence doing it myself haha, probably drop something in haha.
Also dude, if u could somehow change the gold chev badges to say, white or red, I reckon it would look heaps better.
powerchip $890
the jump in power feels like going from stock to a full intake/exhaust setup so id say its significant, ive heard an increase of 15-20rwkw in a VE SV6!
i dont like the idea of paying $75 for a dyno but yeah i wanna know for certain too, id estimate around 150rwkw - should be similar to some of the others on here
i gave the spacers to the mechanic when i got my last service and he dropped them in, i was the same as you, they dont look hard to install, but do you really wanna risk it...
yes i think the gold has to go, but what do you reckon about black or dark gray??
