Davey's MY09 VE SSV

Here's my phantom metallic MY09 VE SSV.
I've had it since late November 2008 and it's taken me this long to post pics!

It's mostly stock ATM. I've done a few cosmetic mods to it, as you'll be able to tell from the photos.

MODS:
20"x8.5" and 20"x9.5" Stamford wheels
Lowered 1.5" (Pedders)
Tints
Chev front grille (bowtie badge painted grey to match SS badges)
Boot lid debadged and a MY09.5 SSV badge added
Stubby bee-sting aerial
A top of the range alarm!

TO COME:
CAI
Tune (looking at Oztrack ATM)
MAYBE exhaust if I can get one quiet enough (factory exhaust is loud enough for me - must be getting old!)
Phreddy blue dash
Phreddy RCA out mod
Amp / upgrade factory speakers

I think the rims really set the car off.

Thanks, yeah me neither, I've never liked black rims but each to their own.

About time Dave.... Very nice mate we will have to get together for a few combined shots

I like the wheels they sure do set it off.... Although im not a fan of the bowtie grill but thats just me.....

Did you take those pics at the boat ramp behind flower power at Moorebank ?

I'd go with 20% tint and would look tops.

Maybe a little lower too?

I'm pretty happy with the tint the way it is, but yeah I'm toying with the idea of going a bit lower too. Especially when I see other lower VE's - they just look so good!
Don't like the idea of scraping over speed bumps/driveways though, so we'll see...

Don't know about being a better photographer than you but i bet your camera is better than mine....( i only have a 5 mega pixel Nikon about 6 years old lol) i think they are giving them away now days...

We used to go skiing from there a few years ago... but looks like they have fixed up the ramp since i last launched from there...

Also dave does yours have the AFM ?

No, I got mine just before they changed over to AFM... thank goodness!

I never really liked the idea - 10kW less for a measly 1L/100km better fuel economy.

I've since heard from a few guys here that its a dud - economy is no better and power is compromised.

...Plus the badge looks gay

Yeah, I don't know what Holden were thinking putting it half way up the boot lid!

I went for the clean look, with just the one badge. Some people have said it looks a tad too plain but I really like it.

I agree, the new position of the badge just look's wrong !! I don't think it's plain it look's clean and neat

Yeah, I've thought about that but unsure how it would look. I would really need to photoshop it on there or something before making a decision like that!

...Then if I did that, I'd have to get the chrome mirror covers...and then the Calais chrome window surrounds

i learnt the hard way....i had a the maroon coloured vt Clubbie.....beautiful when i washed it but even if it dewed up overnight car looked filthy....then i bought a VX senator the champagne/silver colour and loved it got a week out of a car wash.....i do think black looks the best with nice shiney bits but would be a bitch to keep clean

Funny - I went the other way.

My previous car was silver. I used to look at dark coloured cars and long for the beautiful deep shine and reflections you which you can only get from black or darker colours.
Now I've got my black car (which I must say is gorgoeusly shiny when its clean), I want silver back! ...I spose the grass is always greener on the other side.
