Good workWish I'd just got a tried and proven cam rather than letting my tuner pick and choose his own according to what I requested.
Still not sorted? That sucks, what trouble are you still having with it?
The HPS sounds awesome. My brother almost changed his mind when he was up there because they had a ute they were working on before they did his which was running the HPS and he said it was mean as, you'll love it.
I am mate, doing touch up tunes on it atm but seems to be settling in nicely.![]()
Ordered my binnacles yesterday, should come up nice. Went for the same colour as the speedo cluster so should match well.
Binnacles are in!
Job was pretty straight forward. The kit from JHP is excellent and comes all done for you to plug and play. Pulling the dash apart sucks balls because it feels like everything is going to break big time but it all comes apart really well considering most of it is held with shitty plastic clips.
Anyway, some pics!
Radio out!
About a half hour to get to this point
Trial fit
And all in and finished!
And my brothers red gauges in his sportwagon
All up, around 3 hours for the manual because more of the trim has to be removed, mine was finished in around 2 hours. I highly recommend this kit, costs more but the quality and finish is excellent.
Final tune has gone into the car and it feels excellent. The whole process has been a breeze thanks to the autocal, loving driving this car!![]()
Looking good, glad that all has gone well with your mods.
Cheers mate, so far so good.
These arrived today...
Now, just waiting for the dynamat bulk pack to arrive from the states. Then it's a matter of finding a day for the install, hopefully soon but mabye while i'm on hols in november.![]()
Well, going in for a retune.
Want more time on the dyno tuning wise instead of the rush job done in sydney, wish i had more time up there with steve but had to bail for work purposes. Unfortunately have also found out it's bloody hard to get a cammed car 100% over the net so have decided on trying someone in melbourne. Heading down tomorrow morning to drop it off before i fly out to port douglas for 10 days break. Hopefully she'll be good to go then.
Jesus its looking good mate, sounds pretty mean too
Just makes me want to throw some $ at the stato
Nice ride mate.
Couple of things: the Binnacles look great, do the air vents match up, easy to hook up gauges?.
And did u mod the strips and paint or are they new ones that aren't Calais.
You should go the sports pedals like your Bros got.
Keep up the good work![]()
Cheers. Nah i'll keep the stock pedals for now, after tuning i want to install my speakers which have been sitting here looking at me for over a month!
The binnacles come in a kit with everything you need for installation including a wiring loom and air vent adaptor so everything works and looks fine. The strips were also included at that colour.
Thats great. Might look in to it my self.
Back from holidays, unfortunately.
Car has been retuned, and so far it's been a good decision to get it done. Car picked up more power and is much smoother through the auto which is what i wanted.
Good to hear. Have you had anything done to the gearbox to handle the extra power or is it not necessary?
Who tuned it this time? And what was the issue you were having?
Also, next time you want something Pioneer, give me a yell![]()
APS in frankston this time. Auto was the main issue and is now pretty much perfect. Car feels alot better at cruise and idle, plus now has no surge down low. Frank and the guys down there were great about the whole thing and allowed me to leave my car there for a fortnight while i was in queensland so it's been a good experience.
I'll keep you in mind for the audio, might need more stuff yet![]()
Very nice calais you have there.
My cammed car was also done by Oztrack and I will definitely be getting mine redone locally too as the car constantly stalls when at lights and in 1st gear, it always pulls timing out too while under load which is a bit concerning but nothing a proper dyno tune won't fix.
