wow.. 5 months from Collinite is a good result! I've not used it but heard a lot of good things. the next correction on my car will be when my sister gets back from England. She has a giant shopping list of chemicals to bring back with her!!! I used my old Megs DA to correct the car when I got it but it died in the arse not long after that. Since that original post, I've picked up a Bosch GEX150T which is a great little DA. Very happy with it. I'm also looking at picking up either a Shinex or the new Flex rotary that's due out any minute. Want to have a play with the Flex before I decide. I've heard it's pretty noisy. Not really an issue but they're much the same price. My sister is bringing back some Clearkote glazes that I've been itching to try. VERY slick, oily glazes - very little fillers to keep the clarity and look amazing from the photos I've seen. I'll top it with some Naviwax which I've also been wanting to try.
My ute has suffered from one too many dealer scratch-n-go washes as I consistently forget to tell them not to wash it (thanks to a laundry list of warranty claims)!!! So she's sporting more cob webbing than I'm really comfortable with. They're not terrible - one pass with some 106FF should be sufficient but in the right (wrong) light, they stand out a bit. I'm happy with the level of gloss, it's just cob webbing that's irritating me. But I'll be patient until the new gear gets here.
Man I absolutely love Collinite. Couldn't believe I hadn't used it sooner when I first got my hands on it!
I'm jealous, I want a relative from the UK to bring me stuff over now haha. They've got such an awesome variety of quality products, can't wait til I need to order some again.
Personally, I never liked Flex. Bad experiences with the shoddy forced rotation one. The shinex is absolutely amazing. So smooth and sturdy for a rotary, so refined! Can do some serious glorification with it.
I know flex has had an up and down review but the new one is getting some pretty good press in the UK. But I do know the shinex will take some beating. It's pretty much the benchmark in the price bracket.
Next time I'm ordering from the UK (not this time, as it's being brought back to me! haha) I'll let you know. Maybe do a group buy and save on postage. Could save a bit doing that.
Very nice mate, wish my ute looked that nice. Its just too hard to keep a tradie ute clean all the time.
U r very lucky to be able to and have the patience to keep it that hot
Life tastes sweeter when it's wrapped in debauchery!
Noticed today that the windscreen plenum is lifting up and leaking - has happened in the last week, so will have a new one fitted next week. Also the driver's seat has started creaking again - definitely not my fault as I've lost weight since last time it happened! hahaha fkn injuries! Oh well - this puts an end to a 44 day run of NOT being at the dealership. RECORD!!!
maybe u should looking in the trading forums, see if anyone is selling a sh*tload of luck, coz i think ur running on empty
Drove to Canberra and back today on just less than half a tank - that's right, Ranga.. #### your carbon tax!
No one ever believed me that my car was greener than a prius!!!
good stuff!
i drove from campbelltown to parra on the weekend, got about 8.5/100kmaverage speed about 94km/h
car went back in today. The windscreen plenum was replaced - with another series 1 part - so is doing exactly the same thing. They're hopefully ordering me an S2 part this week (redesigned, using a denser plastic, so has more surface tension to keep it flat). Everything else seems to have been fixed fine.
and lowering?![]()
hahaha - still working on that, mate. You would have a heart attack if I told you how much holden wanted to charge me for labour on that!!! Should be going in soon though.
lol it probably wouldn't surprise me. In Sydney, there is only ONE place to go... Wholesale Suspension in Penrith! They even do the wheel alignment with you in the car if you ask... Pick up some short body shocks from them at the same time and you'll love the result!
Thanks for the info mate - I'll check them out tomorrow.
If I can get this car signed off once and for all over the next week or so (fingers crossed) I'll hit Greg up for some Bilstein B8s and get it all done at the same time.
Nice! Will finish off the look...
Stubby aerial also arrived today to replace the whip. Should tidy things up nicely.
Just letting some sealant cure on it before I put it on (yes.. I'm really that picky!)
