Looks awesome! I think I'm going to have to change my SSV badge to the one you have. The only thing I wish KPM would do is better looking exhaust tips. Today I was at a tyre place, and there was a SSV ute with full KPM kit, another SSV ute with Walkinshaw and mine with VCM. I have to say that Walkinshaw tips looked the best!
I don't mind the KPM tips actually, but 99.9% of the time i'm in the car listening to it rather than looking at it so i'm not that fussed really, as long as it sounds fantasticThe exhaust is ordered, now just have to wait for delivery...a long wait however long it will be!
Grats mate, great looking beast...photos don't do those rims justice either, heaps better in real life.
Yo.
like the look of the redlines with the little extras, not a bad model at all
I do like the Alto on the series II. I will be picking mine up in a few days. Though I will be sad to part with my E1 R8.
I didnt like the kpm tips at first, now i got my hardlid on they suit it perfectly!, nice car mate, i though the engine was still the L98 6L?
car looks sweet.... im realy into that color too![]()
Nah the series II is the L77 engine mate.
Voodoo Blue SSV M6 sedan
355rwkw
Complete KPM 3" (1 3/4 Ceramic coated) is going on next Monday
Then off to Protek straight after to drop it a bit with some SSL's & Monroe GT shorty's![]()
Just quick question...I've read that the red-line series have 233rwkw stock standard? Is that right or is that with a little tune?
the guys at Protek are great. Just let them know that they were mentioned on the forums! the more of us go there, hopefully they keep giving us good prices!

Every car will be different....
The Redline series is no different, engine wise, to any other SS, SSV or CalaisV V8. (the manual will gain an extra 10kw or so and 17nm or whatever it was over an auto). I'd guess it's around 230rwkw ish with a tune (stock everything else)... from the factory i'd guess it'd be closer to 210rwkw or less. I am expecting about 260rwkw with a full KPM, OTR and tune on e85.
Yeah that's what I thought... I read a couple of threads that said stock 233rwkw and I thought WOW!! because with a full exhaust, then you'd at least look at 300rwkw!!![]()
I was told that as a rule of thumb a 30% loss from fly wheel to rear and if you had 233rwkw from factory, an otr, extractors, exhaust and tune should give you around 300rwkw? Or am I incorrect in using the 30% estimate?
not quite...it is 25-30% driveline losses going from the engine to the wheels...so for example a stock 270fwkw - 25% losses = about 202rwkw. This is a VERY rough guide though.
You can't directly compare any gains by using an OTR, exhaust etc. to the flywheel quoted figures from the factory or any others as all cars are different and tune up differently, some start with more but gain less...some start poor and gain more but all should end up sort of similar (perhaps within 10rwkw) if tuned correctly with the same mods. Engines all all different and some have better tolerances and performance than others...there are some freaky engines out there that just perform and respond very well to mods.
Some more pics after the VCM OTR, KPM 3" with 1 3/4 coated headers and the Kings SSL/Monroe GT Sport Shorts.

Jeff.
looks alot better. although im not a fan of the tips.
with the springs, took mine a good 2 months to sag to the height i wantedshould have gone SSSL all round.
yes, i'm thinking that possibly SSSL would have been good...hmmm...I have about 6 speed humps at work and with a few peoples in the car it scrapes though so perhaps i'll leave it for a few months to drop a little and leave it at that!

KPM 3" with VCM OTR & 1&3/4" Ceramic Coated 4into1's on Cold Start.
very nice mate sounds awsome!, cant wait for my headers n that to get here, i went with that 1 7/8 and ill be getting mafless tuned with my vcm otr, did they give urs a maf tune?
I'm currently using a generic 98 tune on an SCT box with full custom 98 & e85 tunes coming soon!! I'm prob keep the MAF as it's big enough so flow shouldn't be an issue like it used to be (had a MAFless VYIISS with boltons) before this.
I'll make some more videos of the KPM when I get some time. This was just on cold start this morning before work. I'll do some incar and drive bys under different throttles for some comparisons at some stage.
