Bought a brand new series II SS in manual two weeks ago,
so far it has:
HSV rear spoiler
G8 rear diffuser
HSV GTS wheels powdercoated satin black
SSV tail lights
Badges (lion & V8) and calipers painted black
Indicators tinted
King springs SL front, SSL rear
Monroe GT Sport shocks/struts all round
QFM A1RM pads all round with TRW GP600 fluid
Hurricane exhaust (1 7/8 headers, hi flow cats, 2.5" catback)
HSV Steering wheel & gearstick
It goes and sounds amazing! Cant wait to get her on a track!
The car is almost finished, the only plans I have now are for OTR & tune, and possibly 3.7 diff, I will wait for her to bed in first
Tint the windows too!
tough!!!!!
+1 on windows. Looks very sharp. I really like the black GTS wheels.
Is it just me, or has the dealership also fitted, as an extra, an abundance of buffer trails in the paintwork? (last picture) or are they just odd reflections?
Looks so good mate. Love it.
It actually has tint!
Remember that these photos were taken on an extremely sunny day in full sun, normally it looks fine! the photos dont do it justice
all good.. it's easy to miss!
Just looked like the dealership had done their usual trick of scratching the crap out of it with their buffers.
Got a VCM OTR and MAF tune last week

250rwkw on a mainline dyno!
The difference on the road is great, so much more torque and throttle response!
A big thanks to the boys at PowerTorque Engines!
I don't think my rear tyres are very happy with the upgrade however
More pics when it stops raining
Looks good mate. Id imagine it goes a bit better then your old sv6.![]()
just a bit![]()
Makes me want one all the more but being on p's plus saving for a house is kinda holding me back.
very nice mate. Black on black is best
nice work mate... it's almost identical to mine.
loved your sv6.. love your ss even more!! bet you do too![]()
Thanks for the comments
Update:
Installed Redline Brembos & Slotted Rotors last week, pics below
3.7 Diff goes in next week
Very cost effective & easy upgrade, they bolt straight on, same lines, no modifications, just like replacing a caliper!
Not to mention how much better the braking is now!!
love it man
awesome car dude definatly love the black on black and the GTS wheels
nice black on black = tuff.
Yeah definitely looks tuff.
Are you going to paint the calipers black also or keep them as is?
where did u get the calipers from?
Check out My VZ SS 6.0l NOW CAMMED http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/...new-vz-ss.html
Brakes look great mate
Thanks!
I got the brake calipers, bolts, etc from Holden Parts, and the rotors & pads from GSLRallySport
I did explore getting the brakes painted, but if I was going to do it at all I would do it properly which means taking them apart, getting them powdercoated, then rebuilding them! Sorta not worth the time/money, and I can live with silver!
On another note, got a 3.7 diff put in last week, after a day or so of getting used to it, I love it! Accelerates much faster, and much more drivable in all gears! I will post the difference in quarter mile times when I get a chance to retest!
Looks good dude - gotta love phantom!
How much were the brembo calipers from Holden and how much did the whole setup cost? (pm me if ya want)
I may as well post this up for reference, here is the complete parts list for a redline front brembo kit (as seen on my car), the caliper lines and mounting points are all compatible so this everything you need,
I also have the part numbers for the holden rotors & pads, but honestly you're just getting bent over & sold another brand at a premium price, you may as well get better aftermarket parts...
From Holden:
Brembo Caliper LH 92221883 x 1 @ $435
Brembo Caliper RH 92221884 x 1 @ $435
Caliper Bolts 92139080 x 6 @ $6ea
Pin & Spring Kit 89047711 x 2 @ $75ea
Aftermarket from GSLRallySport:
Slotted Rotors DBA42604SL & DBA42604SR $225ea
Pads QFM A1RM $150
So all up I was out just over $1600
I fitted them myself as they bolt straight up!
P.S. I do have a contact in the Holden Parts Dept so use those prices as a guide... If you budget for $2000 you should be fine!
