looks descent needs tint, and Black rims with chrome lip i recon but matt black looks sick, matte black vinyl wrap i dea i had a while ago is coming back :P

and installed the ssv tail lights

Hey all
So a little time ago i finished the carputer this is what it looks like

That is the custom front end software i have scripted in xcode.


That is how it all sits in the dash the blue thing is a Griffin Powermate


That is OBD2 mac software called "movi"

More mods coming in the future....

my god that is ridiculously impressive. how did u manage to do that? Ive been looking for something like that to install but wasnt too keen on the ipad setup cos i couldnt source a different fascia...could you please tell me how to set up something like this? I have a VE SV6. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers mate, the main idea behind the design was to be completely removable so it would not effect the resale. this one decision made the hole thing much simpler. when i started i had very little programming knowledge.... and i still do, so dont let that hold you back. I am however quite savvy and stupidly determined when it comes to tech. the ipad setup is good but a dedicated computer dose much much more. If you have any specific questions just ask.

Stupid question but is it touchscreen ? or have to everything by that little mouse thing?

Haha, yes touch screen and that "little mouse thing" is a spin wheal (like a volume knob) used as a media controller when driving so i don't need to take my eyes off the road.

or those rims u got it shopped with (imo they look too small on the ve)

Yes i understand the green lights don't please everyone but each to our own n all that i suppose, n do you really think stock VE SS rims look small? Oh and i have my reasons for not dropping her too low that shopped image is fe2 (VE SS "sports suspension").

install looks good mate. Pretty much agree with various comments here. Personally, i don't like the vinyl on the side, it makes the car look like it sits higher as it draws your attention to it. . if that makes sense. Also not a fan of the metal mesh. But hey - if you like then good on ya dude.

I'd be interested in seeing the reverse camera image on the screen... where did you have it installed? price?(pm if ya want)

Cheers for the comments Luke, the camera is a cheep one from ebay with IR LED's inside, works well enough but sometimes struggles at night with internal reflection.
the screen is a lilliput 7 inch touch screen that has a remote wire so auto turns on to the reverse camera when i flick it in to reverse. I did the complete install myself the same as most of my mods, more fun and free but the camera was around $30, because you have an SSV you could hook a camera up to your rear input on your head unit and run the image through your stock screen.

Haha not much really :P But interestingly enough the new one seams to have slightly better reception (this could just be in my head) and slightly differently shaped

........ not a fan of the grill, looks extreeeemly dodgy, the mesh direction isnt the same in the fog light holes compared to where the radiators is? personally id scrap that idea and get a SS SV6 body kit, and just keep it all black.
nice carputer though but your obviously obsessed with the colour green lol

Haha yep, thanks mate, my mods seem to be very polarising. If i could be bothered/justify a body kit i would think about it, but i don't see the point of making my omega look like a SS/SV6

Dude I'm really digging some of these mods... that carputer is sick. And personally I'm a fan of your DIY mesh grills, they look neat.

Just wondering though, did you ditch the daytime running lights when you replaced your stock headlights with the projectors? And are those projectors (the eBay item said SSV, SS, SV6) the same on the Calais?

And yes i did ditch the DRLs but then they ended up going back on lol and i doubled them up for more power!!! (they look ok)
I don't know if they are the same on the calais probs best to start a new thread
