Really nice mate, congrats on your purchase, i remember when i got my SS home for the first time.

Looked at it for ages thinking is this for real.

Pleased for you, rims look better than i thought they would as well, suit that color well.

    Cheers.

I hope the ute behaves for you and you have the opportunity to really enjoy it.

Definitely lowered Mischa - I could get my head in the gap from rear tyre to guard on mine before it was lowered.

hahaha mate, in those photos, it's wearing multiple layers of wax, over a sealant, over a glaze - over the span of about a week - but I'm hoping to have time to try out a couple of new products before the cruise, which I have a feeling will look pretty special - won't be at all durable, but that's not too much of a concern to me. You basically just need to consider where the car will be kept - if it's going to live outside all the time, I'd go straight for the most durable products - but if it's going to be sheltered, then you can afford to sacrifice some durability for looks (or if you have a really pedantic maintenance schedule like mine!) - I can recommend some products and techniques to keep the car looking mint, if you want to go for the looks side of things, so you don't have to continually drop the ute off here every time you come up! In the end though, as with anything, the results come from the prep - not the actual protection that goes on last - that's not the important bit - they can offer various effects to amplify what's underneath in different ways, but if the prep isn't there, the result won't be there. A $300 wax will look exactly the same as a $30 wax on a car that isn't prepped right.

jeez! haha no wonder it looks mint in the photos man! I hope I can come to this cruise, I would love to see your car in person. To clarify a couple of things my new girl is always garaged when I'm not driving it, she's actually a weekender due to me having a company car for work so I'm very lucky with that. I live down a dirt road tho, 800m of it till tar, freaking hate it! but I do no more then 8km's when I go down it haha.

I can totally understand that mate, reason why I do not mind spending the money if the job is done right, I'm a very very fussy person when it comes to my toys it's either do it right or don't do it at all in my eyes aye haha. I'm also very fussy to who I give my toys to relating to detailing servicing etc.

Now I noticed you said in the email that the Polymer will bring out the 'pop' in the metallic paint, will this make the paint look lighter/ bring out the metallic only in the sun light? Or or will it do it all the time? As I like how the paint reacts to sunlight at the moment, no sunlight the paint goes quite deep/dark looking, a lot of sunlight then it goes very metallic/light looking.

If the Polymer doesn't effect how the paint reacts to sunlight (I don't see how it would) then I will most likely do this option due to the durability of the product, unless you have any other ideas up your sleeve

Let me know Tinsnips as I'm keen as to do it, But I don't really want to move away to much from how the paint reacts now hence why I'm a bit scared to touch it. If you could let me know mate that would be greatly appreciated

    thanks mate

Different products don't really change the effect of the piant - just amplifies different aspects of it. I'm thinking something in the middle would be ideal. Ie, a sealant that is designed for looks - so you get reasonable durability, but the paint will still look sexy as hell, particularly since, with such a huge amount of flake in holden paint, a glaze isn't really necessary. Don't stress about altering the appearance - that's not how it works.

Sounds like a plan mate, you name a date & rough price and I'll make sure I'm there, if your not to keen to post up this info on the forum (which is fine by me) just send me the details to my email address mate. I appreciate all the info and time you given me TinSnips

    hows the ride man?
do you scrap out on anything?
    Hey mate,

Ride is actually quite nice I was suprised with it being on 19"s and the springs I put in I thought it would ride abit rough, but the ride is very plush and smooth with these springs. I do not scrap out on anything (as of yet) I have been over speed bumps etc. I can go over them perfectly fine with out scraping, I didn't want the car to scrap hence why the cars height isn't super low, just wanted it to sit nice all round
