G'day all,
I'm new to the forum, thought I would say hi and show you my ride.
I've owned the SS since 2006, bought new (my first V8 - 5 years old next month). I've had some ups and downs (mostly ups) with the modifications game - learn't a few lessons along the way. I've been through a few sets of rims, a few different exhausts a few different OTR's. Did all the bolt-ons and thought that would be enough power for me, but then wanted more, so went the cam and added some Higgins heads later on. I'm a big fan of drag racing, and have run probably 40 passes in the car now. Last time I ran the car was at the LSX Nationals in March - running in street class up at Heathcote. Didn't get past the first round, got knocked out by my mate Vern, although he did go on to win so swings and roundabouts as they say. Unfortuantely I never ran the car when it was stock, but with bolt-ons I ran 13.1@107mph. Then with the head & cam I've run a PB of 12.2@117mph. Both times were with the stock stall, full weight and same 20in street tyres. After that I have added a 3000 stall, better cats and managed to crack 120mph, although haven't lowered the 12.2 time slip. I've always been aiming to crack 12.0 on street tyres - that would be awesome.
I love the drags, although I'm looking to move away from the strip and start doing some track days, motokana's, hill climbs etc! I've always wanted to get the car out there on the track!!

120mph is starting to move, well done
What kind of power is it putting to the ground?
Dyno'd after stallie was put in = 420rwhp
MPH suggests a low 11 is for the taking, very nice.Try some R888's for some good 100% street legal tyre fun in 255/275 on a 18" rim.Can you fit 18s on the bum?
Id keep the coil-overs for circuit work and keep stock suspension for racing.I gather you are running high 1.*** for the 60ft?
Sounds like you are loving the scene, even better when you have mates involved.Tends to help keep the combos evolving each year lol.
Yeah you are right, with a sticky tyre it should run 11's, but I like the idea of rolling up to the track, throwing the helmet on and going 12 flat. Would be nice. One day I'll run some Micky T's to see how low I can get the ET.
Best 60ft on the 20" tyres has been 1.8s
I'm also up for some pic's, maybe from the track "in action"
Will do mate, photobucket is not working for me right now. Will try again tomorrow. As for the 18" rims, not sure if they would clear the brakes.
I think in last months street commodores magazine there was coverage from the LSX Nationals. I'm told there is a photo and little write up. Trying to track down a copy myself.
Wtf don't u get pulled over heaps for tinted headlights
Haha - they are just covers. I don't drive the car with them on! They are just something I've been mucking around with.
Covers are from Supercheap Auto and sprayed with black paint (on the inside). Got one of the body match cans from Autobarn to ensure the right colour. Was going to use them for track days - put race number on for example.
head light covers look tuff like the black with the silver stripes suits well.
Nice mate... but then i'm slightly biased to how it looks![]()
Nice work mate. What sort of tyres do you run at the drags?

I've only ever run my 20" tyres at the strip. Maxxis - not the best but gets the job done. Want to get a 12.0 before I try some Micky T's
The car looks sweet. Pretty good times on 20"s aswell. As for the wheels if you want sticky rubber with those brakes your best option is som hsv 19" rears which will fit a nice set of 295's underneath
Nice looking ride, like the covers too, they go well, but wouldn't be able to get away with driving around with them on that is for sure.
Nothing better than big CI. 555rwhp from a NA V8, next another camshaft to see what more I can get from it.
Haha, yeah would never risk using them on the road - the plod would love that!
Some picks of the custom gauges I put in.
Cheers,
Andy
