Nice, well done, you won't look back.

How does it compare to the Turbo 6, always have a mate of mine with the Turbo 6 going on and on Lol.

    Cheers.

OMG!!! Why? You'll regret that... Give it time for the "new car" thing to wear off and trust me, you'll miss the the FG XR6 Turbo.

    Smile 6Tmanual vs SSmanual

Please bare in mind this is my opinion only!!

    Fors:
The Falcon was definately quicker, traction control had hero factor so it would spin the wheels until the car was approx 45 to 50 degrees sideways then bring you back into line.

    The motors are near bulletproof.

    Againsts:
Standard interior compared with SS thunder is shit. Display screen ordinary The gear shift is far to long (in movement i.e. 1st to second etc).

Broke 5 sets of centre diff bushes in 75000km.

When it broke traction in the wet the axle tramp was that bad it felt like the diff was going to rip out of the rear end.

Brakes are shit, they dont handle any prolonged use or any use in that case.

Seats were uncompfortable on long trips.

I do miss the low down power (off the start line) of the xr6 turbo but that would be about it.

    Hope this answers any questions.

Genuine question (not stiring the pot) - Is the speed that noticble? I was in an XR6T recently and didn't seem to have as much guts... Doesn't the Xr6 Turbo have around 270kw /torque of 530Nm and the SS have 270KW / Torque of 533Nm (not that much in it)

Ute looks nice mate, should consider a hard tray on the back.

The 6T has 534nm and 270kw compared with 530nm and 270kw for ss, difference being that the power in the 6t comes on at around 2200rpm where as I reckon the power in the ss doesnt come on until after 3500rpm plus forced induction is a lot more savage than normally aspirated. I do however reckon that the ss has longer legs and will reel in the 6t at around 140kph.

I also think the v8 sounds quicker....sounds stupid i know LOL

Thanks for the reply mate, imho both are nice cars .

It's the sound of an 8 that gets my vote.

Not to mention the look of the VE Sports range as well, they are a cut above the XR range imho.

    Cheers.

Except the Turbo 6! Ford's stock turbo 6 beats modded Holden V8s. Fact.

    Depends how modded the V8 is i.e. throw a turbo on it....your a ####head......fact!!!!

sorry man probably a bit harsh but the fastest drag cars in the world arent 4lt 6's......another fact

p.s. if this gets me banned from this site so be it....unfortunately one shit stirrer with not too much positive stuff to say ruins all the other input on an otherwise helpful site.

OK I should have specified NA modded. FI modded V8s are another kettle of fish, but even then the Coyote is the better choice atm. In fact right now, the FPV Supercharged V8 would be my pick in an Aussie performance car. The fact they also look better and are better equipped and nicer inside is also good.

I have owned both. LS3 V8 Holdens (more than one) and an I6T Ford (I own neither now). The Ford I6T is easily a better performer in all areas but rear tyre width lets it down a tad.

I'm not being negative - just opinionated, which I'm entitled to be. Just like everyone else. Calling someone names because you disagree with their opinion just shows you lack a fair bit of maturity. I can talk with many people about different things with differing opinions and we never resort to name calling.
