What products do they use to get the water to repel like that? Looks amazing.

A mate has had his car (SSV) done up by the boys at Autotechnique (VCM) and although it's not listed on their website, they do have an OTR for VE.
My mate had his done back in November, and it looks like a much bigger OTR than you currently have, I should have a got a pic today, but will try on Wednesday.
Also, the OTR from VCM has a big scoop behind the grille, the scoop is the length of the grille and is almost as deep as the grille.

I too have wanted to do something with my grill....so good I can see what it looks like without the chrome badge...was it hard to remove...not that it looks hard but I guess my question should be can it be easily put back on once removed? How are they initially fixed, small gap on one side of mine.
Im thinking of taking off the bagde and giving it a few coats of matt black, then replacing.

Edit* Never mind found the relevant thread

Very nice, keep those updates coming.

i have absolutely no idea what products he used
the compound he used with the mechanical buffer didnt have any labels on them
the wax was Swisswax. cant remember the name but when i last looked goes for $300+ for a tub i think.
then finished it off with a new product to enhance the shine that is a spray on wipe off (sort of a quick detailer but better) called "Spray Magic" i think...can check the bottle at home as i bought one off him.
he has been doing my car since new so its always had the best treatment and i use the best products to ensure it needs very little work by him on its annual treatment

if u can get a pic that would be great. even measurements of the filter as from when i bought my filter you couldnt buy it in AUS i had to bring it straight from the USA and its a whole lot bigger than the other OTRs for VT-VE apart from the Russo one that is more of a rectangle filter like whats in the box not the panel ones like normal OTRs

we are also developing a scoop for it that sits infront of the radiator to catch the air coming from the grill that will be the width and depth of the grill. we ran out of time as he has alot of jobs to do for Motorvation which is this weekend coming.

    These two.

    VZ SV6/SS Bumper Removal

How To Paint Front Lion Badge

Looks a bit more (more plastic plugs in wheel wells & about 4 screws under the skirt) to removing the front off a VE SV6 but these were helpful to me.

Do you know if theres more to this than meets my eye?

for a start its ALOT easier than on those links

FIRST of all you DONT have to remove the front bumper on a VE.
u undo 2clips and 2 bolts as shown here

once u do that u can bend the grill towards you a little (away from the car) and there are 3 or 4 clips like this

just need to be careful unclipping these which can be hard coz they are in tight as they clip in sideways. it makes sense when u see them out as these anchor on the front bumper and with the top 2 bolts and clips they lift the front bumper up

once the grill is off the holden badge has about 4 or 5 clip tabs...pull these outwards and the badge pops off and u can paint it

Thank you very much. very much appreciated. i am very pedantic and try to uphold the car in as good of a condition as i can
yeah seen it on the LS1 forum.
apart from being plastic and looking factory...not that impressed considering the intake area is narrow in height and the filter is definitely smaller than my custom one and i dont have a intake height restriction like that one.

happy with mine. theres might work better not sure as they got some air flow extraordinare to help design it so if it works good then good on them.

i wont be changing mine apart from either Black HPC coating it or getting it redone in Carbon Fibre
