Can i just ask what best time you have run? Id imagine a very low 12.

Why did you go with the CSV otr? I have heard nothing but bad reviews about these.

    Anyways, looking good!

edit: Sorry would be a highish 12? Didnt realise how heavy these ****ers were!!

i have only been once to the drags and it was my first time ever.
ran a 13.5 with bad axle tramp and a wet track as after that it got cancelled due to the on and off rain.
i also forgot to take off at the time of installation the rubber seal that seals the bonnet to the front of the body so i was basically cutting air flow off to the DTI DOH!!!! which meant it was sucking hot engine bay air, pulling timing out,etc....such a newb at this drag business
going back this wednesday as it looks like no rain so should be right for a high to mid 12s like u say on street tyres
still have stock clutch so not sure how long it will last

waiting on a anti axle tramp kit from Fulcrum Suspensions to arrive here then launching these heavy things will be easier!

i went for the CSV DTI cos of the proven back to back results on dyno and track, the fact its the only OTR for the VE currently

What are the bad reviews you have heard about it?
    Whats wrong with it?

LOL, seems everyone does the same thing first few runs ever My first ever runs at Calder were in an RX2 that eventually did a 10.1. The first run i did was 15 because i didnt have traction almost the whole track. Best cars to learn straight line driving in though.

Look forward to seeing what time you can get out of her once you pick it up though, very impressive cars considering their weight.

As for the OTR i have just had a couple of guys down here who have bought one complain of bad airflow. So really it is literally what i have heard. They do look the best out of the lot though including the ones in the VT-VZ range.

    cool...thanks for the well wishes.
well on the dyno it picked up 21rwkw with a mafless tune
i had bad airflow at the drags coz i forgot to take off the rubber seal that runs under the bonnet nearly the whole way and seals it infront of the DTI....lesson learnt i guess...hahaha

now i just gotta convert it to some decent times at the track.
although now that i have the launch sussed hopefully i wont damage her like the first night on the track

will keep all posted on what the times i end up getting. just having a ball out at the drags, auto test, sprint days and running around barbagello race track...

Race track days are always fun, although not good on tyres and brakes

rims where a definate as i was gonna get a nice big tax return to cover them....then tax man took it all away

possibly might be changing wheels in the next 2months or so...still saving and deciding whether to go CAM, RIMS, STEREO, etc....or maybe all

as i cant fit MT Streets or sticky tyres for the track on the 19" rims i will probably sell them and have to buy some track rims...17" or 18"...so will let ya know

thats an awsome ride. the exhaust note is like music to my ears. thats an impressive power result for basic mods only. some head work and a cam will really wake this beast up. have seen a vid of an engine in the US using L98 heads with the holden intake manifold, ported heads and cam in a well screwed together combo making over 500hp on an engine dyno and from memory the cam wasn't that big either. the L98 heads are based on the LS7 heads i believe, there's huge flow potential in em

hey deano how is ya? Found out some good news dude. keep ya rims! Theres finally an american company that have the brains to make slicks fof 19 inch rims. Waiting to here back from my friend ken satori (whos the speedchamp) about a price for them. His mate who will be importing them from america and will let us know how to get hold of them when he gets them in. Howd you go at the drags? Been back since i seen ya? I ended up with a 12.9 which is good but will see what happens with the tyres( if, when and how much i can get them for)

the best to date is consistent 13.3 @ 107mph with the tailshaft not right
axle tramp is destroying everything (can anyone say all 12 tailshaft bolts ) and launching the car with a decent 60" is not possible right now. 2.25 is the best 60" i have got which is crap...should be at least 2 possibly even a 1.9 on street tyres

got a anti axle tramp kit on its way so should help with being able to launch the car better
taking it to tailshaft specialist to sort it out tailshaft vibration issue i have

challenge is to get into the 12s on street tyres...a nice 12.5 with this combo would be awesome but to be honest a 12.9 would have me happy....till the next run

love the exhaust and everyone keeps saying how awesome it sounds too

from all the testing and research a nice 224/228 cam should see me around 325rwkw/440rwhp as the heads on the L98 flow so well...thinking of going the cam upgrade early into the new year

i have been good mate...how u been? was good to finally meet ya at the drags a few weeks back
nice result on the 12.9. what was the mph?
as i said above 13.3 @ 107mph is the best so far with a wonky tailshaft

thats good news about the slicks
is that full race slicks? which means front runners etc?
or are you talking at ET streets or a sticky race tyre?

    UPDATE:
    ANTI AXLE TRAMP KIT
Anti Axle tramp kit sort of installed.
4 out of the 7 bushes have been replaced...the other three require the diff, etc to be removed so when i go a 3.7 diff ratio i will do them but the guys at WA Suspension reckon the 4 they put in is enough to stop it.

now from initial tests....yet to go to the strip....they have reduced the axle tramp ALOT!...instead of tramping/shaking violently now at the same revs and launch it simply "skips" a couple of times as it gets moving.
so much better and thats at full tyre pressure so as i said..track test soon

    FRONT CASTOR BUSH
also while the anti axle tramp kit was being installed i also had the front castor bush replaced...after seeing that under braking a VE front suspension moves forward and after measuring the standard castor bush allows up to 10mm of movement a replacement was definitely on the list

that too is to be tested on the track but initial driving gives a firmer brake pedal feel and also the suspension isnt "absorbing" the car under braking so all good signs so far.

    STEREO
car was dropped off yesterday arvo to mate shop to get the stereo system installed. when i got there they told me 10" subs not possible to december sometime due to the Pioneer container ship being stolen
so i just went for the dual 12" subs like i had on the clubby and VT
    1400W max per sub
will be there after work on tuesday, wednesday and ofcourse thursday(pickup) to take progress pics...

    THINGS TO DO
    1) change cats to unshielded to tuck them up higher for more clearance

    2) then to wind the coilovers down a touch just to give it a lower stance

    3) spoiler coming off...like the look without better

    4) next friday having the car fully detailed with a protectant resin put over the top

    5) alarm system

then in the near future...cam, brakes, rims

    UPDATE:

heaps of delays with the stereo sub box but its done so now to install it all late this week.
the below is the perspex window now done for the stereo

car is in getting the cats changed so i gain more clearance

tomorrow the coilovers are getting wound down some more...depending on how much we gain with cats will determine how much lower.

clutch is on its way out after a night at the drags so new one soon
also 20" rims in january and then lower the car again

G8 lip spoiler in january too

will have new pics of her a little lower and also the custom stereo install by the weekend.
have a LS1.com.au perth cruise/family xmas day that i and a couple of guys have organised so will have pics from that too
