i was at the drags about 3 or 4 weeks ago...
first run clutch stuck to the floor - common VE issue when the clutch gets too hot...then it never came back so i let the car cool for a few hours
ended up managing a PB of 13.2 @107mph for the night with the clutch still slipping....
12s passes are coming soon...stock clutch, stock tyres & diff ratio arent helping running into the 12s
got a mate to drive the car soon to put it into the 12s as the car is capable...just the driver is **** currently![]()

the parcel shelf is the only bare/non carpet part of boot so need to finish it off

i saw u racin again on monday the 14th whatver the date was :P still no 12? i saw a few 13.5s i did a 13.7 in my vx (the black ss standard looking one u may have seen me)which is standard without 270rwkw

yep we were in test mode....clutch sticks to the floor on the VE V8s when given some stick..common fault
myself along with drew(black sv8) were testing some different things for John @ Street Quick Performance and Dan @ Chipmaster
47degree track temps and 18knot head wind werent exactly fast time producing conditions.
the assholes closed the drags early just as it was cooling down!
ur car auto or manual?
and were u running streets or stock tyres?
its manual and stock tires at full pressure still (whats the difference between street and stock tyres?). how much do you think better temps are worth? yeah they did close it early not many people there tho which was good and probably why they closed early.

better temps should drop the times by about .3s off the ET
no difference between the stock tyres are the ones on the car and "streets" are MT Streets...softer more grip and usually put on smaller rim size...massive side wall for flex and usually run them at 22psi..

so far so good....still nutting out the hydralic issue with ve clutchs
no CAI & Tune is killing ur times...u seem to be able to peddle a manual car well...
without the CAI and tune then cooler night should see .1 maybe .2s off the ET....

net result....306rwkw/410rwhp with 540Nm of torquehock:
new diff had the holden bushes taken out and anti axle tramp hit ones put in....
diff sitting at the Chipmaster workshop ready to be installed next week hopefully...

these are the brakes i bought today...just waiting to get here from over east now...obviously the big new ones...not the stock ones they are being compared to hahahaha
and these are the rims ordered that i am waiting for too...20x8.5 front and 20x10rear
once they are on i have the G8/CalaisV lip spoiler painted and ready to go on too
HSV 3.7 diff to go in with rest of anti axle tramp kit in the next week or two as well
and thats it for the car for performance mods....got some cosmetic mods planned just to make it different to the other Black VE SSV with black 20" rims running around perth 8)

Do you know for certain that they fit behind the new rims? I know a lot of HSV owners have had problems with 9.5 and 10 inch non-standard rear wheels fitting over the brakes due to the offset.
