hahaha i knew this would come up, it has so far for my vs senator, then vy ute and then vx xu-6. i've worked for my old man as an apprentice mechanic at his car dealership ever since i was 15 full time. before that i did anything i could think of for a quid, and have saved every dollar i could get access too. currently i rebuild autos after hours for extra cash. i also used to buy cars and resell (not many, mainly just 8's and vl turbo's and that kinda stuff. fix them up and move them on). i fit cd players, uhf's, towbars etc etc after hours. basically anything.
so yeah, i definately will not have any finance/money owing on the vehicle. i'v already paid for it, and haven't yet seen or driven it. so u think ur keen for pics, i'm just keen to have a drive. lol.

well atleast you have worked for it and earnt it... unlike some people who have mummy and daddy pay for their whole lives.for you.
post up some pics of this 'super toolbox' thing too, ive heard of them but never seen them.
i have full respect to anyone who is young and works their arse off to get what they want. or people who are old... i just hate people who get hand outs and rub it in other peoples faces.
hey vs senator, i thought you hated the sv6's that why you sold your other one????
anyways looks to be good

well picked it up today. haven't got pics yet cause i was too busy loading all the **** into it, and putting the headlight and bonnet protectors on, remembering how to use the bluetooth again, loading up the cd player etc etcsuperbox isn't in yet, as to fit the rails you need to apparantely remove the seats, rear mufflers & muffler heat sheilds, tubliner, etc etc to drill all the holes and fit the bolts. sounds time consuming and the hoist wasn't available at home
, so i think i might do it sunday if i get time.
but yeah, alloytec 195 is a major improvement over alloytec 190 in vz sv6 and calais, even though it may only be a claimed 5kw, there must be a big improve in the torque or torque curve? i haven't checked but it definately feels a large amount stronger down low.
6 speed manual is awesome, love it.
88GreenVN: no drama's, will do. how is your little project coming along anyway?
Andyman: long story, last one had a few teething problems, and didn't ever seem to be right afterwards. as i said, long story. i'm still not a fan of alloytec's featured in the vz series but omg do the ve's go better, more fuel efficient, and overall power/torque delivery so much smoother.
Troy 711: superbox was just an idea for me, as it enabled me to be able to lock my shotgun and ammo away when going to clay target shooting, also stops it rolling around in the tray. however, upon reading the instructions if i had known fitting the rails was so involved i probably would have found something else to do the job. none the less, i don't think i'll regret it now anyway.

The project is at engine numbers & prefixes. And chasing down the current serial number for the 7,000,000 Holden. - I'm going to have a car counter on the web page too

dammit, nobody even made a reaction to that previous post. haha, nah there is a ute
been so busy at work lately, every chance i got to take pics it was farking dark outside. anyway dijm8's no car comment hurt to much, so even though it was dirty, i took pics (didn't have time to wash it, but i will soon and get better pics)
i always deliver, the car is real and exists. i'm not about to be the next guy publically pawned on a public forum for claiming to own something they don't, lol.
got the tie down rails in, and fark are they handy, now u can use the tie downs and actually tie **** to the floor, not one metre high in the tub on the poxy weak tie downs that come with them. however, its a lot of work to fit the rails, involving the best part of a day, a 2 post hoist, removal of the tubliner, the seats, all trims from the seats backwards in the cab, rear mufflers and muffler covers, and drilling lots of holes. then u need to get some anti corrosion zinc paint and paint all the exposed metal, and yeah, big big job putting it all back together. however, its done now.
got some 19" rubber on the way, and brand new ss-v wheels, cause they easier to wash than the ss wheels, and i guess as a bonus they do look better.haha. lol
so far for anyone who's interested i've travelled just over 400km in it from new, and i'm averaging 9.1ltr/100km including me leaving it running to muck around with settings and everything. lol. when i get it ran in, and on a good run i think i can easily expect 8.0ltr/100km and less a few other manual alloytec owners are saying.
anyhow, i'll chuck these pics up, and then i'll get some new ones when the 19"s are on and it looks cleaner.

so the 18's stay, which is probably good as i like the ride how it is, and 19"s would make it a little rougher obviously. no other real news, just that i've got a whole 520km's clocked up now, lol

yeah 525 a year full comp. 700 access for me, cause of p plates (well haven't got them yet, but you get the picture) or 400 access for a fully licensed driver. insured for 40k or replacement, whatever i prefer at the time.
its through work, hence the rediculously low price. the cheapest quote out of work i could get was nearly 4k and 1200 access because of such a new high priced vehicle and young driver

just back from a trip to bairnsdale a few weeks back i got 6.9l/100km average on the trip up, needless to say i was stoked, considering that included running around in town for 1 hour before taking off, and going through numerous different speed zones, and roadworks etc to slow me down and speed me up inbetween. makes me think on a nice straight uninterupted trip, maybe even 6.5l/100km or less is possible, if i took off a little bit more easy (i'm driving sensible now, actually slower than sensible, but just thinking)
loving the ute, but still missing my vs senator, and all the performance cars i've owned over the years! will be buying a toy soonish to have as a weekender. have only done 2500km now total, so will be due for first service in the next month!
looking at getting supersport 20's or hsv 19's or ssv 19's or something different still, plus looking for a v8 rear exhaust system with the four tips for curiousity's sake.

oh, and incase i haven't mentioned. i was 18 on the 28th of october and got my licence on the day, so i'm now a legal solo driver on red p plates for the next year. ute is still on four wheels and being babied!! don't think this one will ever cop a hard life, took to much saving and hard work to be able to afford it to throw it down the drain.

hey mate. i forgot about you out there! Congrats on getting your license. Iv got a set of VE Senator/Clubby rear mufflers here that i bought to put on the SV6. I installed them last night and decided almost instantly that i didnt like them. They look great but i missed the silent sound of the stock mufflers. The HSV ones a just the slightest but louder. If you want them im happy to meet with you somewhere. PM me and we can work out a price. They are $450 each from holden. I didnt pay anywhere near that and they have about 2000kms on them. Let me know. either here or PM me.
BTW. How does the ute compare to some of the other cars?
