OTHER INFO: Finally. Needs a new cat-back exhaust. It currently has a 2.5" that is rusting out and could do with replacement but I will leave that up to the taste of the next owner as to how loud or quiet it is. It doesn't have extractors. It does have a tunerpro chip and a CAI. Previous owner must have fitted the shift kit but I have no details on it. Chirps into 2nd but not too rough, just right.
I bought the car 3 years ago as a daily driver with 143,000kms on the clock. It is a regretful sale but my circumstances have changed and I have had to buy a work vehicle and no longer really have room for another car I don't drive.
Parts that have been replaced or repaired:
-Power Steering Pump and Rack (previous owner & I have the receipts)
-Fully Nolathaned front end + new strut tops (radius rod bushes, lower control arm, swaybar + conversion back to earlier style link pins, much nicer to drive)
-New Monroe gas shocks up front
-New engine mounts + block mount as original was cracked on drivers side.
-New leads, rotor button, dizzy cap and coil.
-New front and rear brake pads, new stainless braided front brake lines, full flush + bleed. Discs were machined about 15,000kms ago.
-New Tyres + wheel alignment, maybe done 2000km's on them and the brake pads.
-New inlet manifold gaskets + coolant
-New accelerator cable
-New ignition switch
-New heated O2 sensor
-New heater valve
-Fixed headlining
As you can see I have spent plenty of money and done all the hard work. I'm sure you can find cheaper V8's out there but I guarantee you will end up doing everything that I have listed here so why bother. It uses 15L/100km around town doing short trips. It will get around 13L/100km around town if you are doing decent length trips. It gets 10L/100km on the open road at 110 on cruise control. It has the big fuel tank. I only use 98 octane BP fuel. Who cares about the extra $5.
Sorry skidney I've already bought my work car so I can't do any swaps. I'm in no massive rush to sell if you're interested and need time to organise money - while I keep the VP my wife has to park her car outside :P
Thanks 5lutv6 - when I pulled the manifold to do the gaskets the injectors were squeaky clean, so clean you wouldn't believe it. Just the plastic tips a bit discoloured from 15 years of petrol exposure. That was only after about 6 months on ultimate too. We even run my wifes VS V6 auto on ultimate only, done so for 4 years and it averages 10.5-11L/100km peak hour every day on south road. Its done 285,000km too.
