Trying to get rid of my VS Calais Super 6 for some time now. Some of you may be familiar with it. To save me writing everything out again, here is a link to it on carsales.

hrmm since your now in parramatta, whats the deal with transferring to NSW rego? and what does it need fo rego?

Rego can't be transferred unfortunately. I have let QLD rego expire now cause I didnt want to go through the transfer to NSW rego for it just to sit in the garage unused.

Treat it as an unregistered vehicle. Not sure if the gearbox needs to be fixed for rego... someone else might be able to tell you that. It can still be driven, just has to be driven gently. Other than the gearbox, its definitely roadworthy. Tappet cover gaskets leak a little oil but shouldnt be enough to fail roadworthy... whatever its called down here... blue slip? pink slip? not sure...

To anyone else who might be getting there hopes up, it needs an auto gearbox rebuild. The bands are rooted and slip badly.

How bad is the auto? Would it get to Melbourne?

I drove it from Brisbane to Sydney without any trouble.

six months ago, but its been sitting in the driveway unused since then cause i got a company car. No other issues.

Would the auto need to be rebuit to standard specs or does it need beefing up bearing in mine that I would be more than happy with the power its putting out now. New to commos

If you were going to spend money getting a full rebuild, its only marginally more expensive to beef it up a bit, so you'd be mad not to. The cheaper option is to drop in a gearbox from the wreckers... total cost probably about $1K at a guess. Lots less if you put it in yourself.

:my: i would have bought this only a few months back before i spent my cash!!! i paid $7K for my ecotec calais a year ago (is mint though) so $3K is redicously cheap! Even if it cost $3K for a worked rebuilt box fitted professionally you would have a vs series 2 calais Supercharged for $6K with new box! i would consider buying this @ the end of the year but the money is going on my charger! If its still there in the future mate i will get in contact!

Yeah for sure... dont assume ever assume it must've gone by the time u get to it.

It breaks my heart to sell it but I cant justify spending so much money fixing it and keeping it on the road when I have a fully paid company car and need money for the house i'm buying...
