FS: VL CALAIS s1 1986

Hey guys, i have a vl calais for sale, it is champane gold in color, perfect paint, runs smoothly, 146,000 ks genuine ks on the clock. It has recently replaced head (under warrenty still), head gasket, spark plugs and leads, rego aircon compressor, all belts, top radiator hose, regassed to new aircon, headlights, 2 injectors, brake master cylinder, battery, reco main electric window switch, rims, tinted windows, cat back standard exhaust, power steering rack. Comes with genuine calais rims, 2 with tyres, boss kit, top radiator hose, leads, genuine headlights. It is currently registerd but will be sold without rego and rwc.

I reserve the right to end this thread as the car is advertised else where.

Items that need attention: rear right handbrake assembly, rear left window has come off pulleys, chassis rust,

Might be interested but can you put up pics of the rust you mentioned? Also, what exactly is wrong with the pop up lights, hopefully nothing too major as replacements are an absolute **** to find.

pop up lights is a wiring issue, I know the motor works 100% and all the arms etc are all working fine. I found that after it rained they stopped working and when it dried out they worked again, so maybe a fuse has blown now? not 100% on that one. and the rust il get some photos up for you now, il just go take them now.

Ok, here are the photos

The rust is behind the front wheel arches on both sides, i took it to a mechanic to have a roadworthy done and this is the only rust they found on the chassis. They called it the front rails or something.

the vl Calais is still for sale, i just replaced the alternator, the old one wasn't powering the electronic fuel injection it was that screwed, car runs like brand new, it is still up for $3,000, i can drop it to $2,600!! i have receipts for all work done, the head is still under warranty, this is a bargain vl, all the major work has already been done, over $9,000 it total!!!

BUMP IT UP. come on guys its ONLY $2,600 without rego, $3,200 with. Someone must one a mint vl calais apart from the rust. There is NO rust under the front and rear windscreens. Only on the rails as pictured.

lol thanks mate, yeah if it didn't have the rust i would have never bought my VT. Everytime i went to upgrade, i had to fork out to fix somthing. So i didnt want to fix the rust

. But i have convinced dad to let me keep a project car in the garage. so if this doesn't sell, well you will all be seeing it in a few years looking a lot better (and quicker). I plan on spending the cash from this if i sell it on another project, im hoping a vn

Yeah i know what you mean about constantly having to fix stuff everytime you upgrade... I'm looking at buying a VK next year for a bit of a project. I'm curious, what do you do as a job? Got a fair bit of cash floating around?

yeah, i just got sick of it, speaking of fixing some stuff. I have fixed the pop up lights on the VL Calais now. The relay is buggerd. so il get a new one to make sure it was the problem. Um this may suprize you, but i havnt had a job EVER. i had one for like 6 months and a fruit shop thats it, I used to goto tafe doing IT but the course was terrible. So i do nothing currently lol. But yeah, theres a enough cash around for me.

I'm saving 90% of my cash for a cv8 monaro for when i get off my Ps though... so i'm being as tight as possible with the VT atm

nah man, my dads just got a nice flow. Good idea saving the cash for the v8 once off your P's tho, i wish i did that, but hey iv started on the vt so i may aswell finish it and just chuck a supercharger on it.
