ITEM: An authentic VB SL/E V8, sedan which I love and want to keep but can’t justify anymore. It’s a nice car that can be driven now but deserves to be restored; tinted windows; Solex locks; lowered; pacemakers; chrome bits in the engine bay; Holley 350; etc… V8 engine is clean and quiet and the exhaust is nice and lumpy

LOCATION: Adelaide

YEAR: October 1978 – makes it one of the very first commodores ever made, no. 4488

SERIES: VB

BADGE: SL/E

ENGINE: V8 - 253

TRANSMISSION: Auto, drives forward no problems, but shudders at the thought of going backwards – been told a band needs tightening?

COLOUR: Gold

EXTERIOR CONDITION: Chrome is all good; rust has been repaired in boot/well; but drivers door has holes (there’s one at u-pull it the right colour) and some surface rust showing thru the paint; has all SL/E options but air con has been removed to save weight; I have all the badges in the glove-box (they’re off ready for a paint jobby); she also needs new rear shocks – shocking!

INTERIOR CONDITION: Original buff colour velour lining and trim in good condition; drivers seat has small tear on edge; no plastic lenses on centre globe of dome light or on the rear courtesy lights (but the lights all work); has girlfriend-made black velvet parcel shelf with 6x9’s, cd player included but not wired in (yet); drivers window works but not well… as with a back window.

TYRE CONDITION: 80% front (camber wear from partners VP); 90% rear

ODOMETER: Unknown, odometer not working

SERVICE HISTORY: No service history known – I did full service and replaced dizzy rotor and cap and new tie rods less than 3 months ago and the engine is sweet

REGO OF CAR: SA

REGO TILL: Feb 09

RWC: N/A in SA

PRICE: $2100 or may trade trailer; boat; maybe something else of interest/value (a buggy for my GSXR750 engine perhaps…)

DELIVERY/PICK UP INFORMATION: I guess it could be freighted anywhere if you really want a VB SL/E; but best to come pick it up
