Just purchased some mags that came off a holden crewmen
***$1 Reserve - Holden Factory 16" Rims & Tyres*** for sale - TradeMe.co.nz - New Zealand
I was assured that these mags would fit a vl (Scroll down the website to the question section)
Now that i have thrown them on my car, the front wheels are way to close to the springs.
at the end of the springs towards the bottom there is a metal plate that sits across it (just above the tyre) struts i think? the guy said
There is just a couple of mills space between the tyre and the metal plate.
It's F&%ked is there anything i can do to correct this or am i looking to give up on them and get different mags?
They just look so good on the car lol
buyer beware. The moment he said it fits VL-VE alarm bells should have been ringing. VE have the same PCD but different stud size and hub dia. Bang 'em back on ebay and hope you make a profit.
Reaper
What a ****ing muppet that guy was, i feel going and slapping him.
Talking about the guy i brought the mags from lol.
I was just talking to a fella on the phone from mag and turbo. He said i may stand a chance if i throw some mag spacers on there just to bring the wheels out away from the springs?
any thoughts on that?
Lol! I don't think it's illegal in new zealand? well i hope not considering he offered me that option. Ah ffs they look so good though, now the ****y job of taking them back off.
I was just looking at them as well, the ones at the rear are a smaller profile then the ones at the front, if i switched them around would it make any difference? or just scrap it and try and find some other mags?
Will switch them around and take a look, otherwise ill just throw the factory mags back on.
Any ideas of places to get some decent mags for vls? preferably in the south island of new zealand lol.
Shipping from auz to nz 500!!! :O
Yeah that's the thing i was searching for the right mags for my car, and this guy assured me on the auction it would fit a vl. Might just take them back to him his advertisement was misleading and i bought the mags under a false statement
Ok an update, just switched them around so the smaller profile tyres are on the front and there is a huge difference, can almost slide my finger under the gap now.
Apparently spacers are legal in nz and are also safe? spoke to my insurance company.
Hrmm ah **** i don't know lol
