and why would it be hotter? turbo is going to get hot no matter where you mount it. There are plenty of mid mount turbos out there and they work fine

Aswell as rear mounts mounted near the diff. Quite hot right next to the exhaust.

Why do they bother wrapping turbos to help keep them cool if people are gonna mount them in a place like that.../

Im not trying to sound like a dick head, but how do you cool a turbo, if it's mounted near the diff? And would adverse weather affect it?

And wouldnt you want the turbo as close to the exhaust ports as possible?? And how much compressed air would you lose?

What are we agreeing to disagree on?

All setups have pro's and cons. All i said it has been proven to work! Thats not wrong in anyway (nor an argument)

if ya gunna go that custom with ya mount then u should devise a super duper water cooling system ..

like a water to air intercooler? or you mean the actual engine cooling system? Most aftermarket turbo are only oil cooled. But due to turbocharging there is more heat generated in the engine so a better cooling is necessary i would say a bigger/thicker radiator and a electric waterpump would be more than enough (especially with alloy heads).
One of the main hurdleswith mid mount and rear mount are oil feeds for the turbo you'd probably need a scavenge pump to make sure the oil gets returned to the sump in quick time so the bearings and seals in the turbo dont let go
