Default how to get a good exhaust note

well ive got a auto non turbo vl and ive got a 2 1/2 inch lukey performence catback and the note it ok but would like to get a deeper note from it anyone have suggestions on what i should do because my next step was extractors when i get my tax check but i thought i would ask because it sounds like extractors wont be a good idea for a auto n/a vl

definately extractors(get that crappy stock manifold off). big difference in power as well as note...
i got extractors 2.5 cat back with just a rear resonator(next to spare wheel well) nice and deep and beefy. hear me coming from mile away.(What the missus says:P) combine it with a Cold air intake and u will have a nice intake sound as well

Both my VL's have sport systems on, 2.5", an are quite loud, 1 has cat on an 1 doesn't an the sounds are different but nice. An they are both with extractors. Same thing as detox nath83, can be heard in the area before you get home. Good tho wen your not drivin, hear how others treat your car

IMO the best exhaust for a VL is Extractors and a 2 1/4" exhaust anything else is too big (power wise)...

i guess it depends what ya want though sound and a loss of power, or a little bit of extra power with a good note that suits a NA

my first i ran extractors, hollow cat (welded with pipe) 2.25" with a single muffler, gave a good note decent loudness aswell

the new one is standard manifold, cat and 2.25" single muffle aswell, it bearly makes a sound to the other one and the power difference is huge

tuned exactly the same, running same fuel and timing the new one seem pulls hard to around 5300rpm where the white one pulls to 5900rpm with no trouble at all

worth the 100bucks you can get them for second hand

i like the sound of that but i already have a 2.5in catback so would i just put a 2.25in extractors and get rid of the read resinator and have a straight through?

was only few months old before the car came off the road

bassicaly the cat back is a straight through muffler, and then there is no resisnator after.
