vl motor that i love to hate

Hi all,
Got a little problem i hope someone can help with! Just recently rebuilt the head on my vl, everything is right checked it all a thousand times. but and i know ur all waiting for the but.........u switch her on and it all sounds great no missing great revs perrs like a kitten and then it just dies drops in revs violently to about 2000rmp and runs like shit. it will eventually die if u let it! i have put it down to 2 things crank angle sensor coz ive had that problem before with similar symptoms. The other would be the coil but ive done some ohm tests and it all seems to be okay!
im at a bit of a loss at the oment any other ideas, or maybe even a way to test the crank angle sensor before i go spending money on something i may not need! any help would be great!

try the airflow meter first, just unplug it and if it runs the same then theres your problem

yeah tried that mate it altered the revs when it was running sweet at idle i think its dizzy related but thanx anyway.
