    Exclamation Mini Spool?

    Looking at getting a mini spool on my N/A VL so both wheels will spin? Would it make the axel snap? Also will a stage 3 / 4 performance chip fit into N/A VL or would I have to go for a stage 2? Also car has a bosch pod filter and extractors, and 2.5" exhaust all the way through, Does anyone know if I need papers / reciepts for pod to get her over the pits in WA?

    yes both wheels will spin... i only had 2 axels let go in my vl in 3 years so your pretty safe, vl's dont have a chip in their ecu's like the newer models you have to get the computer tuned or buy an aftermarket one... not sure bout the pits but im pretty sure a pod is illegal in every state unless enclosed, do you have mufflers on it? if so then it should be ok but dont quote me on the exhaust because it depends on if the inspector is an arsehole or not

    also make sure you get the right spool for your diff... most vl's are 25 spline but a v8 or turbo diff will be 28 spline... man i want another vl

    Cheers, I will be sweet with the exhaust going over the pits, Just the pod im worried about.. Pretty sure my VL just has the standard 9 inch dif, so should be a 25 spline mini spool I hope...

    ahh vls dont have a 9in diff... if your that worried bout the pod put the standard airbox back on for the inspection... if you dont have one a wreckers will for like $20

    Ahhh I must be measuring the dif wrong... Its top to bottom right? Had my mechanic mate out there with me and he reckons its a 9 inch? Tripper... Yeah tried that, but small town and only 1 wreckers, and the only VL there has literally nothing left on it.

    a 9in diff is a different diff... the vl uses a borg warner diff

    hplden diffs are usually too weak and are often replaced by ford diffs for competition as they are much stronger

    HAd one in my VX SS, and my VP Ute. Very dangerous in the wet, but also fun. But as a older wiser person now, i would advise against it.

    But the end of the day, its up to you bro.

    Can anyone tell me how I can find out what mini spool I will need for my car? Its auto N/A. And also where the passenger kick panel is to get to the ECU?

    unless you have a turbo or v8 diff just tell them its for a 25 spline vl commodore (v8s and turbo have 28 spline)

    the kick panel... sit in ur pasenger seat and its the bit under your glovebox next to ur left foot...

    you cant put a spool in an lsd center... it has to be a single pegger center
