after a quick hand here

can people check there rear bar and tell me if there is a factory recess on the bar for the tow bars

bellow the number plate on the bottom edge


cant recall if my old bar had it and only noticed it while sanding mine today

is it a standard rear bar or not...and there are different types of tounges too i had to get one made for my car

Ok so on my daily I have the le kit, which has no allowance whatsoever for a tow bar, but I have 2 spares, one genuine which has a little cut out recess for the tow bar, and a non-gen one that does not have the recess..

Both mine have them, 87(wgn) an 88(sdn) , mind they are both Executives tho

BTW when I fitted my towbar there was a white plastic spacer under a bolt that held the fueltank strap that was meant to be removed and replaced with a towbar mounting plate

the metal was very thin as I drilled the holes and remember the VL is known for stretching the floor from heavy towing
