possibilities are a worn trans e.g. slipping.
you thrash it more than you use to.
    fuel leak in the system,
faulty air regulator, coolant temp sensor, fuel pump , fuel regulator or worn spark plugs.
Nobody wants to play with me

it would not tell the ecu that the engine is warm therefore keep the air/fuel mixture rich
if it is working properly the ecu tells the AFM to lean out the mixture.
something similar like the O2 Sensor as well. measuring gasses in exhaust and adjusting mixtures to run economically.

Probably a fuel leak somewhere. When replaced my fuel pump I noticed that it had a non standard regulator added into the system just after the external pump which suggests, to me, that it could have been blowing fuel lines somewhere between the tank at the reg before the rail.

Could be that you have a fuel line that isn't holding upi to the pressure perhaps.

If the part your talking about is next to the external fuel pump its the dampener. Cant remember what the word is, but they updated that part a gew years ago. super seeded or some crap.
