finding a place for vin numbers to find out make of vl

have hit a brick wall ( not in the car ) am trying to find out what sort of car i have so i can do it up appropriatly where should i look for to find out the meaning of the vin ?????

Those numbers dont make sense mate.

The VIN, or the Body ID plate will look like this (obviously different numbers/letters)
"8 L 19 6F J6 00025L" and is located on the firewall with Body and option identification plate (possibly what these numbers are) and the safety compliance plate.

Then you have your chassis number, located on the passenger strut tower which is similar to "AVL 000001 A" wich "R2" or similar just above it. The chassis number wont give much details, just which plant, Model and its serial number.

The numbers you have provided are possibly off the Body and option plate, in which case post up what each code is referring to.
