engine block any part of the chassis somewhere you can get a really tight earth and maybe clean where you put it so you dont get to much resistance maybe replace the earthing wire

the earthing point is from the batt to the engine that earths the whole car from there all the rest of the earths are just off the car

have you tried checking voltage while the car is running to make sure its not the alternator?

there is the main one attached to the rightside of the engine on the engine mount bracket, there is another one on the inside engine bay near the battery and from memory there is another in the boot near the wheel arch.
also make sure the boot and glove box lights aren't stuck on.
and parking a car on wet/ moist lawn over night will kill your battery too.
Nobody wants to play with me

    this is my problem

    vl flat battery problem

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

hey all i have a problem with my vl[yes i ran a search and the threads i found didnt have the same symptons as my case]

the battery seems to be going flat very very quik in my car.
you will drive along then it will just cut out.lights and blinkers work still.put another battery in it and it will start.i then pulled the car out today from my side yard to do some work on it for an hr or so and yep again it was flat when i went to put it away.i couldnt try my second battery as it was flat so its on the charger now.i tryed to jump start it but it wouldnt start.also the other night the starter mtr jamed up as it wouldnt turn over like the battery was dead flat gave it a tap and it then fired up fine.

what im thinking is the car is running of direct battery power if it cuts out when its running?could it be a starter mtr problem?should i check the earthing leads?if so where do i find them?

also the battery has been re located to boot by previouse owner could something be wrong there?

also when it goes flat it goes dead flat it wont evan try to crank over just turn key and nothing

i had to push it away last night.i left that same battery in it last night got home from work today and it started 1st pop

with car running put multimeter on battery posts.. you should get reading of 14.2V from alternator. any less you power diodes are failing if getting 12 - 13V your alternator is knackered.
like above make sure boot and glovebox lights are not staying on.....
also if u have a stereo and have wired up the amps without the remote wire too head unit the amps will stay on and flatten the battery... check your remote lead. so the headunit turns off amps
    goodluck.....
    its nothing major

lol used a multi meter it ran 13 volts of batery, tested it again with lights on stil 13 volts, tested it again car on and lights on and still 13 volts.well that was before my motor shit itself.earthing points were fine.what should i look at doing once my new motor is back in september?i dont realy wana get it on the road and have this anoying elec problem.no it wasnt boot light or glove box either.

would it be the alternator motor iodines?should i just get a reco alternator.it has a new starter motor in it already i thought it was statrter motor as it had oil on it from my catch can blowin oil out the filter over the starter motor but i realised it was happening before the motor let go
