has the length been adjusted as in where it swings in over the rocker cover there is a plastic threaded part for adjusting cable length... basically it might not be pulling the throttle plate open enough

yeah i have fidled round with the bolts to try tension the cable up so its tight but not to tight to make the car rev out when idleing.
i now have the cable mounted on the cruise control just to make the cable nice and tight but still no change in the overdrive when i hit about 70 its just pathetic haha.

could it be my trans ???

yeh there is a a wire that goes to your trans so your car will kick back when you plant it maybe that came loose or off

it could be the trans but if it was fine before you snapped the cable i dont see how it could of ****ed up

there is a detent switch for the gearbox activated off the accelerator pedal after adjusting the cable at the engine its probably just not set right to match the detent position refer to rapair manual there will be info about adjusting the detent switch in there
