can use vn rear disc as its easyer to source
same size and calipers so no diff

    but its down too cost
its cheaper and easyer too just get a whole disc rear end froma wreakers ($200)

but if your wanting to swap you need
    calipers
    disc
    caliper lines
    disc backing plates
vl disc brake hand brake cable (drum is too long)
and new axle seals pressed onto your axels, the disc seals are bigger then the drum so it will leak

so what would be better, which would be easist to fit and pressumably the vn ones are better? vn or vl discs.. even if the vl's are harder to source i have a good chance of getting them

VB-VS live rear axle no ABS are all the same. With the rear wheel bearings, there is a little spacer ring on the disc brake rear end, that is the difference, without that, they won't fit.

You cant put Vn disc to disc on your VL, cos the VN is a wider car.. you will have to get it modified to fit under your guards without sticking out.. Just get disc to disc rear end from a from a wreckers and wack it in there... My old vl had discs all round, but it had slightly bigger ones on the back, pulled up sooo fast! Never locked ion me either...
Vl brakes will do you fine

You can put the disc brake set up on, just not the whole diff. They are the same from VB-VS live axle non ABS.

Yeh thats what i said, Can't put the whole DISC to DISC! So much easyer to just do the whole VL disc to disc setup.. Just buy a bigger master cylinder to bring the pressure up a bit.

    release the handbrake
ive spent ages once trying to get them off but no luck till i relised

if dosent pop off, get a screw driver (flat) and hammer and slowly work your way around tapping it into the edge so it seprates

Is the drum loose? Will it pull off a bit? You may have to back the adjuster off to get the drum off as there will be a lip on the drum. If it isn't loose, smack the face of the drum with a hammer, between the wheel studs. (Being careful not to hit the studs of course.)
