Hey
when cold my vl will have drop rpms and almost stall when slighty pulling the accelortor cable/lightly tapping the pedal, only happens when cold but its hard to take off becuase it almost stalls and splutters but when its warm shes fine
any ideas? ive heard maybe injectors so injector cleaner might help?
cheers

yeh cheers mate but dont really want to get new injectors if it isnt the injectors, fuel filter is also new
cheers mate
yeh i have never really come accros this before and mine only does it under 2600rpm, but when shes warm it is fine? and after around 2600 it is fine its just that first little bit when accelerating/revving
cheers
i had this.. i took off throttle body and intake runners/Plenum and cleaned them all swishing fuel around in them and tipping it out.. as for throttle body clean it well take out butterfly flap and get it spotless as well as the whole inside of throttlebody. also make sure the hole infront of the butterfly flap is not blocked... this is idle air when flap is closed...
makes a big difference in running/throttle response. goodluck
Not so much injectors i would think... fuel filter/timing/leads plugs.... also clean aac valve make sure the inner pin is moving freely and not jamming(bolted to plenum chamber)
i also have this flat spot problem at very low revs.
my car is on lpg and seems only to happen on lpg.
It also stutters every now and again when cruising along at about 2500 rpm. And if i put my foot down while it stutters it will backfire.
will try to clean the throttle body asap
like i always say... watch the backfiring it can blow out your hot wire in your afm and destroy it. so try avoid it where possible
mine was doing this aswell but i found it mine was blowing black smoke only happened once but got me worried, i already new it was running rich if it has black smoke and probly the afm was causing it but i found out my coolant temp switch was buggered and unplugged it and running smooth, it was still hot having saying that so ill try early in the morning and let you guys no
cheers
yeah car would not run well maybe a few seconds coughing and farting and carrying on when touching throttle. it will start and idle if the afm is stuffed
u can look through your AFM and u will c the hair thin wire inside. in a triangle sorta shape in a small 25mm tunnel
sounds like a fuel issue, dont forget after a few years timing does go out also, so be sure to check that.. that can cause flat spots..
but yea fuel first!!!!
timing second!
well i cleaned my throttle body out today and it has made the idle revs a lot higher (they were sitting about 400)
but the flatspot is still there (and its only there while the car is in gear)
i couldnt see if the afm was stuffed, and dont think i could tell either if i could see
would a computer check tell me if its stuffed. I did one a while while back before this happened and it came back fine.
any other tests which i could try
thanks
pull the codes on the comp again.. and let us know the numbers..
plugs/ leads/ fuel filter/ dizzy cup/rotor/ air intake piping not leaking and no vacuum leaks should cover it. its not major
Hey
it doesnt seem to be doing anymore after we unplugged the water temp sensor and was going to replace it but a mistake happened at the auto parts store (not saying which one) and they gave me a sender, but it drives fine with it unplugged, no flatspot no flooding the gnine with fuel at idle and no bunny hopping ( bunny hopping wasnt from the clutch lol)
so its getting around fine without it, becuase instead of getting the correct tempterature it will just read what it is tuned to so no need for extra fuel/air
cheers and this thread seems to be helping others
