ok so the walky started playing up again, i pulled number 3 injector lead off no change. removed number 4 same thing ok, so how do i change them, get them out, need help asap please
Remove intake plastic tubing, unbolt top plenum, remove any hoses holding it down (because as it will leak coolant), unplug all plugs holding it from coming off completely, and once the top plenum is off, its a straight forward thing to do.
Remember you will need to drain coolant, run the car, remove fuel pump fuse, let it die, crank the car for 10 seconds and i think that should just about cover it![]()
cheers thanks man but i dont think its the injectors i think the cas has died again or starting too![]()
well thats an even easier fix![]()
yeah but its raining so i cant change it at the moment so when i do i let ya know
try leaving plugs on and unplugging spark lead for the cylinder. and looking for change.
i did this for my missus car, found out injector was working and spark was working but crack in head was the problem causing water getting in and having no compression, oil and water was not milky as an indercator either....
try a compression gauge..
either u can swap injector to another cylinder and see if it changes..
Have fun is all i can say, ill never touch my plenum again... god!!!noo!! if u must touch it TAKE YOUR TIME!!! trust me!! you probley have to get yourself a new gasket from inbetween the 2 halfs of the plenum... repco sells them!
hahah i took my plenum off and caus i snapped the coolant air bleed bolt. so i swapped plenums over from my spare and didnt replace the gasket not having any running issues haha, lucky i guess
yeah well im in a pickle coz the oil is fu*kin milky to so will that cause it to run like a dog?
just changed cas nopes not that!!! i used the one out of me purple vl as i know thats good
Milky water is cracked head or head gasket failure....ewwwww causing coolant and oil to mix.. not good bruz
you need to keep an eye on coolant levels as the head will empty first no the radiator being higher than rad
well its still full of water, and yeah i thought it would be head gasket
you can take the injectors out on the rail still without tking the top half on the intake manifold off. its pretty easy to have done it 3 or 4 times that way
but would that cause it to run on 5 cylinders, looks like no car coz havent finished the purple on and now this is fu*k up and if i dont get it fixed well wont be comin down for a cruise next friday
if water is getting into cylinder your not getting full combustion or any at all
well when replacing head gasket have a good close look along head..
thats why is running crap too bud not getting full burn/connection/compression.
how u know for sure the head is full of water...no offence
nah i meant the radiator man sorry my mistake yeah i will be taking to the mechanics and say here do the head gasket and fix the fu*kin thing as i cant be fu*ked with it no more its giving me the shits same as the purple one and thinkin of selling the purple one as im ready to smash it
hahah fkn cars man anything with tits and tyres costs ya money
you should change your head gasket yourself save a ton on cash...
hope its only the head gasket man for your sake. not a cracked head
yeah but i aint got the tools to do it man other wise i would!
but if i goto my mechanic i will do most of the work so it wont cost that much anyway
ahhh cool bud. allen key/ breaker bar for head bolts, phillips head screwdriver for rocker cover. spanners for exhaust madifold and intake side :P
you will smash it very easy and quick...
do you have to pull the timing belt and shit off? so all i would need would be the allen key for the head bolts and a tourqe wrench to put them back in
they are tight bud from heating up and cooling down so a breaker bar/rattle gun to undo them.. yes timing belt has to come off the cam gear. and yeah tourqe em back up... even replace head bolts.
yeah shit might do it at the workshop with my mechanic and do the work meself tho keep the price down a bit
sounds good if u get on quite well with your mechanic have a few beers after hours one friday night and fix her up...
goodluck man keep us posted
yeah i will ey me an the mech are good mates so i will let ya know
i give him a ring 2moz and see how much its gunna cost with me doing the work at the workshop and let ya know!!
word of advice too man
soak your exhaust bolts/studs with inox/rp7 or wd40 and keep em moist.. like give em a spray every few hours till your going to do it. start a few days before hand.
last thing u want is a broken exhaust stud that will cause delimas when your undoing em.
hopefully your mech has a easy out on standby :P
its a common thing for the rb30 head. i have prepared mine a few times and have not snapped any.(touch wood)
