Came home before and went into the shed to start up the VL, it started, it idled (for about 20 seconds). but when i put my foot down it wouldnt rev, just chocked and backfired like crazy. then stalled. It kept doing that. So then i replaced the fuel filter as that was one thing that needed to be replaced. After that i turned the key, it primed, but sounded like it was bubbling/farting. Tryed starting it but it wouldnt, Turns over but doesnt crank. I've been told my fuel pump has probably shit itself. Does anyone know? I swapped the air flow meter with a spare working one i had but that didnt change anything.
prime it heaps of times it will get air in it and run like a dog for a we bitfailing that check the error codes via the ecu leds
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
mine did that for a week once after i hosed it down one day(cause i changed the coolant and spilt it). called a local mobile mechanic when he came out it started and ran fine so he cleaned all the electrical plugs and went like a gem from then after(and i never washed the bay again)
Crank angle sensor(CAS).... or Air Flow Meter(AFM)
so many threads with what to check for not starting..
Search is your friend..
goodluck its nothing major
Ok well ive primed it a heap of times, and now its running again, but its running pretty much like it was before i changed the filter, like absolute crap. 1500rpm is the most it will rev without stalling, just backfires and coughs like crazy. I've tried using another AFM and its the same, it actually runs better when the AFM is unplugged. But yeah does anyone know what the problem could be?
Mate if it runs better with the AFM unplugged the AFM is rooted.. hence reason for stalling past 1500....They dont like water or mositure in them.. toss it and source another...(found out the hardway on my old VL
Floor it and swerve driving skool
if car starts with AFM unplugged and idles.. then you youch the throttle and it stalls thats the afm failing....
at least the backfires wont stuff the afm anymore.... :P (backfires stuff the afm if your wondering...pops the hot wire in the tunnel)
Ha get another.... bloody afm's i have gone through a few
