am looking at turning my daily vl into a turbo
so basicaly whats a list of things i need and maybe some tips and tricks and shit coming from the guys that have done the conversion. i should be sweet though becuase person who will help me knows alot and has done it to a vl wagon. im yet to ask him :L
was thinking it would cost around 1500?
cheers
Would also love some info on what to do.
Cheers
You just need the turbo top end and replace the tune on the na ecu with a turbo tune. Jobs done. If you don't have a later block you will need to drill and tap the block to get the oil line in and yes you should be able to complete it for 1500
yeh true
to lazy and to late at night haha
was looking at maybe 10pound becuuase i herd some bloke got 190rwk off 10 pound?
i no i only "heard" but yeh
ill do a search and hopefully ill find what im looking for
if your running a high comp motor on 10 psi i wouldnt go much thurther without a cooler.
i made 195rwkw on 10 psi but its def no n/a converted slapped up thing.$1000 max for a turbo conversion these days you see whole motors for around $1500-$2000
Please, go to N/A To Turbo Conversion - calaisturbo.com.au
All your questioned shall be answered
less timing.... more boost!
I was in a stock old NA motor on 20 psi the other dayneeded MUCH bigger injectors but it didn't blow up
, VN luke took his worn out stock motor that he used to have before he built the good one to over 20 psi and made 280 rwkw with it no problems, couldn't break it (these are all WITH coolers)
as in intercooler so your charged/compressed air is cool when it gets in the cylinders helps aid pinging/detonation which causes damage to your engine
$1500 is a fair price.
cost me $1200 ish forrr
3" exhaust, cooler 600x300
dump, turbo factory lines, braided feed, turbo inlet turbo injectors, dose pipe airfilter and few other odds and sods. but im carefull where i spend money and did everything my self inc making cooler pipes etc.
id guess around 150rwkw on 8psi was good fun, although blew up two autos.
