i know there has been a thread just posted, and it is from that thread that i got these ideas.
So basically what i want to do is :
- XF Throttlebody
- Bored 30 thou' ?
- Camshaft Upgrade
- Port & Polish
I have been reading, and i have an aftermarket chip in my VL, and apparently a camshaft upgrade with one, either requires a retune or possibly another one that supports that cam.
Can anyone confirm/deny/help me on that?
And if you guys have any other suggestions on some power gains, i would like to hear.
I already have :
- 2.5" Straight Through w/Extractors
- Aftermarket Chip
- 4.11 Diff

Theres already a thread that will answer some of your question... though the chips.. i havent heard much about.. and what i have heard isnt good.
first off 2.5" is over sized for a stock rb30..
2.25" is the best suited and has been proven many times..
secondly your better off getting a live tune done not a mail order chip much better gains to be made
if your running a slush box (auto) thats the slowest part of the car, manual it up asap
advance the timing to 20degrees and make a CAI as posted on here if you search
i still dont completely understand why people want to do a big cam and up the compression in a n/a and spend thousands on that and boring them out when in the long run they could have spent half the money and got twice the result wether that be turbo or a v8
i get the laws side for states other than sa but still
well seeing as its 3 years until i can go forced induction... and i have the money.. i am lookin at these options that will only help in the long run.
and i know there had just been a thread posted, but i made my own, sorry. i did state that at the start, but this thread was also asking about the aftermarket chip, and i didnt want to go off topic in the other thread.
