its a button on the trans which over rides the overdrive
no real power gains just a brainwash

if yours is manual its not used, you have a power problem and its shorting somewhere allowing it too light up

i assume yours was auto before?

if you leave it with power on it is only using 1st 2nd and 3rd if you are over 80Kms and press it it goes in to overdrive (4th gear) so if your approaching a hill press it in to drop down to 3rd gear and it will not change to overdrive on the hill where u need power... if you climb the hill with it on it will change into overdrive and then you got no pwer unless you press the accelerator further

more than likely it was originally an auto and the loom wasnt removed..

my first vl did the same thing after i converted it.. just like with the auto about 3/4 throttle and more the pwr light comes on

If you pull the cluster out, look on the PCB.. it'll tell you which pin on which plug is the wire for the power light. Just cut that wire, and it should no longer illuminate. Either that or you could wire it to ignition so you're under the guise that your car is always in power mode...
