'chip' in the Computer

Hi everyone, just wondering, if i have an aftermarket chip in my computer, is it possible to put any factory issue chip back into the computer, or would it only take the one my car originally had issued to it? when i say any chip, i mean any VL of the same year and model. (1986 VL SL)

Any chip of the same model/year car will fit, yes.

Any VL with a aftermarket chip will/should have a socket in it and yes you can change back to a stock one just by plugging one in. Someone actually asked my to make them one for a VL the other day but I haven't go around to that job yet (or answered:S woops)

Should buy another comp and install the chip urself if ur keen..or get someone to install it.
