After my mums diff packed up in her VL, i decided to change it with the old open wheel centre out of my vl's drum axle housing as it was replaced with an LSD. We got the broken centre out of mums disc housing, and we didnt need to undo the pinion gear so we left the tension on so as not to **** up the backlash and preload and shit. So we swapped the crown wheel off the old diff centre onto the new one put everything back exactly how it was with the shims all in the same place and such. Connected up the tail shaft turned the car on & found a problem.. Park wont engage anything further back then the end of the tailshaft.. also when the car is in forward or reverse gear the wheels will spin but can be stopped with your foot? WTF is goin on? We did everything as i was told to do it by a mechanic but yeh, just spins freely and when put in park the tailshaft locks but wheels still spin freely..
Any help?
Cheers
