hey im kinda new here and i got my vl a while ago and it hasn't started since i got it and when i turn the key i just hear a single click or tick and nothing happens is this the starter motor? or does it have some sort of immobilizer on it? idk what im on about i just need help please
i really wana get it started i need help please
does the motor turn over when you turn the key or not
nackerz said it only clicks
hows the battery if it just clicks could be dead battery.
possibly be starter motor
oh yeah dead battery or starter as u said detox
if it doesnt jump it , its the starter motor... rock the car back n forth abit in gear or N and give it a turn over back in N.. it might start one last time...
overall id say the starter motor if the batterys still good.
i had a simmiliar problem with my car. it wont start on its on but it will start if i connect it to the 4wd
so try jump starting it
wheres maisy at?
sorry havnt been able to get on the net....it makes a single click when i turn the key on sorry for not bein here to reply
its not the battery or the starter it makes a single click when i turn the key is it like an immobilizer thats cutting the power to it?
check the relay to the starter or the connections to it, I had a similar problem i just jump started it and it was sweet. My VK did a single click and yea. Immobilizer... don't know, most people when wiring just hook it up to the ignition wire in the steering column. So i wouldn't make a click noise, wouldn't make a noise full stop. I'm guessing that if the battery is full charged and the starter works. then, check the relay. that Click your hearing could be from that.
Your starters ****ed. Get someone to have the key turned while you hit the starter motor with a stick or pole. I bet it will start. Mine is the same.

And just thought i would add, on my vl the battery went dead tried jump starting it but no go, so i took the battery out and threw a good one in turned the key and started straight away!
my vl didnt start for 2 years when i bought it, check all relays and your connections, then have a look at your engine ground. might be a good idea to change the battery also.
hopefully would have been started by now its been 2 years !
I took my battery leads off because I wanted to crimp some proper ends onto my wires for my amp etc, and after putting it all back on, sometimes when I turn my key the car just does 1 single click, then I have to pop the hood and wiggle my negative terminal a bit, then the car starts, so try doing that as well.
