well as its gonna be 36 in adelaide on sunday im thinking it would be good if i finally got around to fixing car vent/aircon control device thing and i was wondering if anyone knew how to get behind the unit and how i go about removing the glove box to get to it because at the moment i only get the floor (on aircon to the face XD ) or the dimister (for non aircon setting) settings and the others dont work and my mechanic said its probably the vacuum hose so i need to get to the back to look at it
ok man
unscrew the one screw retaining the control panel(left of radio under vent) then behind it(passanger side) unhook the heater box control rod and you will be able to pull it out enough for you to look at and fix the vac hoses. the switches can be a bit worm so c how u go.
if the tags with the numbers have come off the hoses just trial and error the vac lines till they work properly. as in feet setting does not go to face vents, demister go to feet etc etc.. its not that hard to work out. i had to do it.
goodluck man let us know
i know about the screw under the vent but there is another one? where behind it?
there shouldn't be, you should be able to just wriggle the controls out, then suss out the nipples and hoses. nathan do you know how the system works? what does the vacuum actuator do?
i have fixed it and it was a very simple thing and i have working aircon to![]()
top stuff, i fixed mine today so i have dimister! took a bit of trial and error coz the numbers are gone!
nice fellas nice.... its not too hard....
people feel it still tight after taking screw out but it the heater box rod which holds it in.... unhook and away u go...
:P go to hear all working
