Hi everyone,
My first post here.
I have a 1987 VL Commodore. Been a fantastic car and I have had it since new.
I am trying to determine if there is a fault in the way the cooling fan is functioning when the engine is turned off, or if it is normal functionality for the VL.
I do not know anyone else with a VL whose car I can go and check out to see if it does the same thing.
Have read the automotive repair manual but it gives me no clues and am sure someone on this forum will have a quick answer.
I do not have a cooling problem on the car itself. That system operates fine. It is simply the way the cooling fan and clutch operates that I am querying.
When I turn off the engine the fan stops turning completely at that time. There is no "winding down" effect of the fan for want of a better phrase. It stops as soon the engine turns off. Is this normal?
Any advice would be welcomed.
Regards.
