Not Starting..

I think I'm gonna win the award for the most annoying person in this forum lol.

Or the one with the car that plays up the most.. anyway.

Went to start the girl..and nothing.. Wont spark.. nothing. I am confused as hell.

I was driving home on the highway, got home, turned it off for maybe 5 minutes, went back out to start it, and it wouldnt start :S

It has done this twice in the past week or so, and Both times the scenario has been the same, driving around (not necessarily the highway, and then not being able to start)

Im leaning towards either my battery terminal, or even a new Battery. Anyone?

try the search before posting a new thread mate....

as for this could be a number of things..

1. CAS, crank angle sensor
2. Computer
3. Battery stuffed...maybe alternator not charging enough]
4. Battery terminals
5. Loose or dogey connections

check the battery terminals, on mine they cant be tight enough bedcause a sort of concetina spacer in them has been flattened over the years

i wasn't having a go man just have a look through the threads you might find your answer but if ya can't just post up a new thread...

Also, im a bit suspect of the computer, if that were to be wrong, how expensive would that be to repair ?

Do you mean that when you turn the key nothing happens? the motor doesnt turn over? Its your starter motor. Next time it does it, have the key turned with your left hand and using your right hand tap the top of the starter motor with a long stick or pipe etc. I bet it will kick over straight away. My berlina does it sometimes on hot days or if i havent driven it in a few days.

i think you hit the nail on the head, it does it when its hot and sits in the sun for even a little bit, or even driving in heat and then stopping, so when i get the bonnet cable fixed ( lol ) I will be sure to give that a go, do you know of a pic that would show me which bit is the starter motor ? Coz im a bit of a noob lol :P

yeah its on my factory calais turbo that i am doing up but have to pull the motor out

hey guys, finally think i fixed this problem just for your interest.. lol. Had this problem YET again, lol, but luckily it was at a mechanics lol he got the bonnet open, which is awesome, coz now i know how to, after my little plastic handle snapped, lol. and so one of the plugs was loose on the starter motor, and pushed her back in, bang straight away she started up.

thats sucks man but atleast its fixed! helps tp have a clean engine bay to spot the problem

if u have start problems again rock it back n forth in gear and give it a go.

i dont have the car anymore i striped it and sold it off in parts, it was like that when i brought it, it was leaking power steering fluid and spitting oil everywhere out of the catch can etc etc...

my other car has a clean engine bay

lol lets leave Nackerz alone, no one cars about car's there wrecking, and now the problem has been fixed we can all be happy
