Hi my vl runs and drives sweet. Only has done 143k's and has always been well maintainded and has had a recent full service and tune up. But when I start it up when it cold it revs real low/ kinda rough. And when I take off it goes slow almost wants to cut out i think some times. Once I started it and put my foot down and it cut out . It also backfires or something sounds like it in the inlet manifold occasionally. Any ideas would help.![]()
Not to confuss. The tune up and service was about 6 months ago now. Also the fuel pump is kinda noisy is this normal. And could the AFM be the problem. Cheers Jake
sounds like your Air Flow Meter(AFM) is on its way out.. its a very common thing with the Vl commos.
Fuel pump sounds like its whiring irs also a common thing but not of concern. my last Vl had the same thing it was a noisy fuel pump but no dramas.
With your AFM try another off a working vl if possible or test one from wreckers b4 u buy..
backfires can cause the hot wire in the afm to snap as it is very small in gauge..
if u unplug your afm and start your car does the idle smooth out and then as soon as you touch the throttle it will stall.(give that a go)
and when u plug it in while its idleing does it get rough again.?
Cheers detox_nath83. I will try 2moro
Yep prety sure it the AFM. cheers 4 d help
