Hey Guys, got a VL and absolutely love it, its clean and runs well most days. all that's been changed on it is extractors. The problem at the moment however is that on cold mornings when i start it, it splutters then stutters. its an auto and when i put it in gear reverse or drive it struggles to take off and sometimes wont move then stalls. Im thinking it could either be the crank sensor or the maf sensor. but Im not sure and any help would be appreciated, thanks boys!!
yes check the sensors that you mentioned and if that isnt it try adjusting the fuel air mixture setting
how long after start up before it runs ok ??? try checking the ecm for codes . does it restart ok when hot/warm after left standing for less than an hour ??? any signs of black smoke out the exhaust on cold start ??? maybe lack of fuel on start up or too much fuel on start up ??? leaking injectors or faulty ECT sensor ???
yeah like the idling is enough to keep it alive, but i tried just straight yanking the throttle cable and itl just plum it and almost die, it comes back but when im in the car after starting it and put in in gear it wont move, like it struggles, i have to warm it for about 5 or give it a good rev. iv tried unplugging the maf sensor, does the same thing. it ruins clean no smoke, thats why i thought it might be electrical, like the crank sensor or something. thanks for replying so quick, i had email notification off, thought at first no one read it.
sounds like AFM buddy.
if u unplug the AFM and then start your car and idles fine. but as soon as you open the throttle it dies its your AFM
CAS could be responsible as well but leaning towards AFM
good luck let us know
sounds like it could be a o2 sensor
