Hey Guys,
So I just bought a VL commodore, it's my first car, and i was wondering what's the easiest way of respraying the bumpers seeing they look like shit.
keep in mind that it's my first car and I REALLY don't want to fork out for a proper respray done at a shop.
thanks
Do a search bud and ya might find something?
OH you should post pics of your vl up in the my ride section seeing as your new here
thanks for that,
how do I upload photos? i've been trying to find the section..
found the profile picture part and uploaded it, but it doesn't seem to be working?
you're best off uploading photos to photobucket or something similiar. then you can generate the forum code using the "IMG for bulletin boards & forums" option, and just paste that into your message![]()
righto thanks, doing some quick photoshopping to find a colour I want for the bumpers and trim, will upload in a sec when they're done to see what you think.
any ideas?
Here they are. I'm not very good at photoshop but you get the idea (:

i reckon the third one looks the best
i did mine when i got the car.. i used 2 $3 cans from the hardware in silver worked a treat as long as you prepare them properly get em clean and not oily/greasy
Mask it up and away you go :P
in the process of sanding.. every day after school, it's going to take ages!
Anybody got some sort of idea of what I'd be paying for a good condition bumper set or just the front?
just for a brand new front bar on ebay is like 120 or something mate
found one for $51 brand new through supercheap auto online
bargain
I thought supercheap only put the products they had on the shelf on their website? 51 bucks sounds a bit cheap but if they are, put the link in this thread :thumbsup , the complete set is around 150 brand new non geniune
well I think it's the right one? vl front bumper centre.. that's the right piece yeah?

can't give the direct link in their little thing, but you'll find it!
says it'll be about $75, including postage, but I guess if you went into the store to pick it up then it would only be $51?
It shouldn't take you long at all to sand, i just sprayed my rear one becuase bits where cracked, all i did was sanded till it was smooth enough then hit it with wax and grease remover and then 3 coats of paint cause i sanded after 1 and 2 and then 2 clear and it looks like it came from factory![]()
get any auto shop to mix up some cans the exact same colour as your car. colour coded bumpers on VL's look sweeet.
you would only need about 3 cans to do the lot
93 VP Ute, V6 5 Speed
sprayy them silverrr!!!!!
