that is the question.. have bought a nice sedan, was wondering if it's viable to swap my lsd into it (from my wagon which im selling, any of you guys done this? is it worth it/simple to do?
thanks a lot!
well i put a lsd in my sedan but out of a sedan, made a big difference goes much better as the power is going to both wheels not one
is there a 'diff'erence between wagons and sedans is there? hmm
not sure mate think one might be heavy duty but unlikely, but i know they prob have different gear ratios but that doesnt matter just swap it over if you want an lsd........or just put in a mini spool
cheers mate, thanks a lot. by the way no pun intended before...lol

is the lsd 25-spline or 28-spline? (generally VL Turbo's and V8s are 28, non-turbo's are 25).
if both car's have the same number of splines, then you could just swap the diff centres.
if the cars have a different number of splines, you can put the axles and centre (from the lsd one) into the other car's diff housing (probably be best to get a diff specialist to do this for you).
As far as I know the only difference between wagon and sedan diffs (regardless of whether its a turbo/v8 diff or a non-turbo one) is the Shock absorber mounting points are in a different place on the Housing (which means you CANT swap the housings, but I'm pretty sure the internals are a straight swap)

thanks a lot fellas. yeh don't see the point getting a spool, especially if it's possible to do a straight swap with my existing parts!![]()
madrx3boy that site said "Meaning your wagon must take a wagon diff, and your sedan a sedan diff.". since the housings are different, is it still relatively simple to do? dont wanna break n e thing cheers![]()
well i got an lsd, i just thought i would through it in there
yeh do a search theres a write up on changing centres
