vl commodore automatic gear shifter top LOOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have a vl commodore auto. at the moment it is getting its roadworthy dont think it will pass becuase the top of the gear shifter is loose, any ideas how to fix getting really frustrated

glue, and lots of it
