Default VP SS parts into a VL RB20?

My 93 VP SS manual was recently rear ended and is too rooted to straighten out. I've got my eyes on an RB20 VL manual and would like to swap as much as i can from my VP over to that. I bought the entire wreck off the insurance company and from the rear pillar forward shes as good as new (diff and driveshaft are still sweet though), I intend to get an actual mechanic to do the hard work (a friend of a friend) but I'd like to atleast know what I'm talking about before I approach him. If anyone could give me an idea of how much of my VP I could salvage and put into the VL (and how economical it would be to do so) I'd appreciate the help.

And if I were to swap the engine over, is there anything my VP doesnt have that I would need for the conversion? Are crossmembers and other parts similar enough throughout the early commodore range that it they could be adapted with a little work?

I'm hopeing brakes rotors and calipers would swap over alright (anyone know if ABS system would swap over sweet as with a bit of tinkering?). I understand that the IRS would be too much of a hassle to change over but is there any way I could swap just the diff itself over? I'd like to keep the LSD!

Cheers for any help you guys can provide.

The motor and box are easy. Not sure about using the VP K frame, but if not, a VL V8 one wont be hard to find.

The car will already have everything you need, computer etc. Just take the lot out of the VP.
You 'could' go a little extra and put the interior in. Seats are easy as, but you could also do a dash conversion, depends on how much effort you want to put in.

Front brakes are a sure thing, but sure about the rears tho because of the ABS sensors.

Diff is a no go, you could however, find a live axle housing, and put your IRS centre into that (then flog off the IRS housing with the open wheeler centre)

You can use the VP K frame, motor, gear box(including cross member ect) If you chuck the running gear in its easiest to just put the whole VP front end in. Meaning K frame, struts, front brake Assembly ect. When you use the VP motor, you would just use the standard engine loom and ECU straight out of the VP obviously.

I would get a stock VL and change that over as said above. You will have to change almost the exact same things either way, atleast this way you get a fresh base that hasnt been fiddled with yet. Although if you do this, you will need to get a VL turbo/V8 diff and tailshaft as the n/a V6 items wont work.

How much work would be involved in swapping over the whole front end? that sounds quite intensive and would it not be possible to use my VP tailshaft if i found a suitable vl diff?
